Subject: Demonic Instability, is it a Morale Check?

Demonic Instability (As defined on page 26 within Codex : Daemons) states "When a unit with the Demonic Instability special rule loses an assault, it must take a Demonic Instability test at the Check Morale step of the Fight sub-phase. This uses the following procedure. " Aaaand for Dakka, I will not continue the rules for legal reasons, but feel free to read it
Moving along
Is DI a Morale Check for all intents and purposes? And I'm not sure if this has been asked before or not, but can giving a unit of Daemons "Mental Fortitude" with confers Fearless to the units, over ride DI's Morale Check at the end of the Phase?

Well it would be a Demonic instability test taken at the check morale step But its not a moral test so i dont think MF or Fearless would help at all. Reading further its a Leadership test, not a moral test of any type. MF and fearless only helps moral tests. IIRC

It is referring to a specific point on the time line and not a specific Test, so modifiers to one will not modify the other without more specific instructions to do so.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures. |

Good thing it's not a moral test, since daemons probably don't have any morals to speak. (Sorry, couldn't resist)
But yeah, it is not a morale test.

The Daemon rule grants Fearless. Instability is an additional limitation placed on Daemon models.

It's not a morale check by any means.

No, no I does not. They have something close to fearless, but not actual fearless.
