If I can purchase mini's, paint, books, brushes, source material and what ever that is deemed constructive that falls under PTSD treatment then by DAMN they can get the medical attention they need. Though with one "but". I would like all avenues EXPLORED and TRIED to ensure that the individual is 110% willing to commit to the procedure
Edit
I am not a violent man but if I witness someone being harass or intimidated then i would step up to the plate and have them direct their attention to me (brother, Mayor in a Minor city on the Shore is gay and did considered this and I have gotten in one altercation when someone at the Green Turtle took offense when they eave dropped on us)
Not to press a personal matter, but has 40k helped your PTSD? (I'm assuming by your post you have it) Have heard of LOTS of military people being tuned in to 40k, but never as a treatment
Yes it does.
Its a mental exercise for me. Paint scheme, painting the model itself, referencing material to form a theme for the unit, etc etc etc etc. Beats diving into WoW. It helps me recollect my thought, slow my chain of thought, makes me concentrate, takes me out of depression at times, helps me rebury some memories deeply, and/or modeling friends I miss dearly

All good. Just help pass on that bit of info to those you know who has PTSD. Let them dive into the modeling hobby project. If it help have them get evaluated again and put into documentation as a treatment to help one cope. Here's the "but". When tax times comes around one needs a personnel tax expert to help feel out the taxes to help get the expense refunded for them. They have to SAVE ALL RECEIPTS!!
Also D-USA you fall into this column I believe so might want to look into it

I honestly didn't know this was covered now. I recall the excuse use to be that it was a preexisting condition, but that was a big thing changed in the reforms.Though in reading the story it seems like the surgery itself wasn't covered in the end just the other parts? I think it should be covered. As a whole it shouldn't cost much to cover it. Yes the surgery is expensive, but the number of people who need it is very small.

And an extremely important one, to me. I changed jobs while being treated for salivary stones (think kidney stones, but in your salivary gland instead of your kidney). Basically when I ate, my salivary gland would swell to the size of a golf ball because saliva couldn't escape. If my insurance could have turned me away, I would have had to skip out on taking a much better job because there was no way I could afford the surgery to get my salivary gland removed without insurance. Instead, ACA went through, I got a better job, and insurance covered a surgery I desperately needed.

Uh huh. Were you thinking of burns victims and reconstructive surgery when you wrote;
"I suppose plastic surgery is now something that's covered by Obamacare.
Why not, healthcare is bloated as it is, lets throw everything on there."
The difference still is, and will always be that thin line of "Medical Necessity" vs "elective" when it comes to reconstructive/plastic surgery.... I mean, often times, medical insurance will cover other procedures that are "elective" but are more of a "you can get this done now, or wait 2 years and have this thing really blow up." in the form of a 3k outpatient surgery NOW, vs. a 20k operation later.
Pretty much that, though my main issue is currently with the main medical pricing in America right now anyways considering the overbloat that they allow through the privatization. Considering the odd costs such as 75$ on the bill for what amounts to Aspirin.

I hope this doesn't sound insensitive, but man I want to see a pic of this.

How is that a bad thing?
its not a bad thing that she got the surgery, good for them, its just that its not sociaties role/responsability to foot the bill as cosmetic surgery isnt something sociaty should be paying for...
and before you get into "identity" and "psycological" issues pertaining to gender identity,
there is 0 health reasons for gender reassignment,
and 0 psycological reasons beyond the same ones present in people who have "I am a pretty person trapped in an ugly persons body" issues, or similar issues that overweight people have being a skinny person trapped in a fat persons body.
I fully support trans gendered people,
I am no more responsable for paying for their cosmetic surgery then they are responsable for paying for my nose job and botox, regardless of how depressed/ect or how much my identity may be based on my appearance.

So all the medical tests and research that proves that these people have the body of one sex and the brain of the other is what wrong so all those doctors, psychologists, medical researchers who say that if they do not get these types of surgeries that they can become severely depressed and be suicidal are also wrong.
