So, I'm looking to start Astra Militarum and I'm planning to try and buy a friends army since he is looking to sell/trade. Anyways, Looking at the various stuff and boxes I noticed that the Hammer of Cadia box has a nice savings, But I heard it is only the Baneblade and Hellhammer sprues out of the Baneblade kit so I'm wondering, Is the Hellhammer or Baneblade good? Also are Hellhounds worth it?

Baneblade, I believe is the Jack of all trades SH. Hellhounds are good if your opponent ignores them till they get close.

If you're looking to start an armor collection, I'd suggest maybe going for that Leman Russ collection GW has as you'll probably field them more often.
BUT! As to the question, Baneblades/Hellhammers are exactly as kinratha said, the jack of all trades super-heavies. The Hellhounds are fast tanks so that's super nasty if you can position them correctly; one turn of fast movement and then flame the hell out of a unit.

Yes, but only here:
http://elementgames.co.uk/games-workshop/warhammer-40k/imperial-guard/imperial-guard-new-releases-april-2014/astra-militarum-hammer-of-cadia
Goes for £175 GBP. Instead of £205.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, I'm told by a friend who asked a GW store manager that the Hellhammer comes with bitz enough to make any other baneblade variants.

The hammer of cadia only comes with the option s for the hellhammer or baneblade. I bought one and if has defiantly served me well, magnetized it gives gives you equivalent of something like twenty tanks. The hellhounds are constantly underestimated in my meta and are great support for my mech vet objective snatchers.

The enemies of Mankind may employ dark sciences or alien weapons beyond Humanity's ken, but such deviance comes to naught in the face of honest human intolerance back by a sufficient number of guns. |
