Came up during a match where my storm talon was being fired at from 4 inches away, opponent said he was going to throw a krak grenade. With it being considered a shooting attack it seemed fine, just awkward that a flier could be hit with a krak grenade. Is there any rules I am missing here for 7th edition?

As long as the grenade can be "fired" as a snap shot, while odd it is legal.

If you want a fluff explanation, imagine the Flyer Zooming along at low altitude (to perform strafing runs or what have you), and someone trying to lob a grenade in to the thermal exhaust port.

It'd be a one in a million shot, but...

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Grenades are fine. Just like any other regular attack vs a flier.

You mean a one in six, right?

2/3 with that silly skyfire objective.

Well seeing as how the port is only about 2 meters wide, it'd be impossible, even for a computer.

Let me guess, they weren't much bigger than 2 meters?

(I found it hard to justify 2 meter wide basketball hoops m(oddly enough, not the rapid moving hoops or grenade tossing though) so I kinda half went with the joke there...)

But yes, they werent much bigger than two meters.

Stripped a hullpoint, So it wasn't game changing. Just reading through the rulebook after the game and couldn't find a rule against it. I thought there was a rule prior to this edition.

For zooming flyers, shots against them are snap shots, so no template, blast, or anything that doesn't use a hit die (hard to hit rule under zooming flyers). Otherwise, if it's hovering it's treated as a fast skimmer, so normal shots would be made against it.

EDIT: Grenades that don't have a blast could still hit (krak grenades for example). I suppose a blast targeted at a nearby unit that scattered onto it would hit, at least I think so?
