Since all this talk about the new transports centurions in drop pods and such i do not think it was cheesy enough I mean I found some real cheese. I am still on the fence about space wolf terms can be dropped in a space wolf drop pod bought extra. I am pretty sure people will so yes you can if you buy it extra.

Now here is some cheese, how about you buy a space wolf drop pod and put blood angel Vanguard Veteran squads in them. You deep strike 1/2 an inch from the unit you want to assault, the pod prevents the mishap then you assault out of it. Legal?
It says in order to do it the unit has to arrive via deep strike. It does via a transport but it is still coming in. Legal?

Via Heroic Intervention for BA not codex :SM

Yes you buy the jump packs.

You cannot assault the turn you arrive from reserves.

Probably just a typo, but remember; 'You', not 'U'.

As I understand it, the no assaulting from vehicles without the assault vehicle rule would trump the Heroic Intervention rule.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Fixed.

Kk yes its under open topped transport gaining assault vehicle and yes you cannot assault from it that turn. But Ba vets can assault the turn the deep strike in it is special rules for them.

Ok back to bed I'm gonna read tomorrow more see if I can bust some super cheese on the old Codexs and explioting the sw drop pod with allies more.

If they have Jump Packs they can't go in the pod.

Heroic Intervention also states that you have to deep strike using the jump packs, therefore meaning you would not be able to assault if you used the Drop Pod.

My trick is a 10 man Purifier squad combat squadded inside the drop pod. Turn 1 they hit the field relatively safely and I now have 2 Cleansing Fire nova attacks as well as their shooting

Just to quickly point out that if you place a drop pod within 1" of an enemy and you don't scatter away, it will suffer a mishap.

Drop pods reduce the scatter distance to avoid obstacles; they don't provide catch-all protection from mishaps.

Can't place a model with a jump pack in a drop pod.

Can't place a drop pod within 1" of an enemy model or else it will mishap.

Vanguard Vets can only assault on the turn they arrive using their Jump Packs to deep strike .

Three strikes I am afraid

Mm why would you mis hap? Thw guidence alows you to move the pod minimal distance to deploy and not mishap correct?

Incorrect. Inertial Guidance allows you to reduce the scatter to avoid the mishap, not increase the scatter, in the opposite direction.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Ok so corrected 7" from the unit.
Also want to know why jump pack= no pod?
They are bulky so max 5 in 1 pod.
Centurions are very bulky and they are "allowed" 3 capacity =9
And I know that vets needed to use there packs its black and white for the ds.
That's why this is a you make the call trend not you can do this trend.

I'm just throwing out some way more cheese then people thought of so far to realy bend the rules for my advantage in a tourney like everyone else here talks about doing.

Read the rules for transports, they only allow Infantry (not including Jet Pack or Jump). In order for anything but standard Infantry to climb aboard the transport needs to give permission.

Im pretty sure at this point you are trolling at this point. Infantry and Jump infantry are different. Jump packs CANNOT go into a pod. period. The Intervention rule DOES NOT WORK out of a drop pod..period. Should not even be a discussion about it lol.

Actually, unless I'm remembering from 6th (or have it wrong), Jump Infantry is a sub-type of Infantry. Transports just disallow Jump Infantry.

Yet they cannot select themselves the pod to be a deticated transport.

No one could, until Codex:Space Wolves and Fast Attack FOC Drop Pods arrived... And now the recent trend is "What can I actually fit in this pod?"

I am quite sure players would put Imperial Knights in their Space Wolves Drop Pods if they could...

Yes agree. GW should count themselves Lucky that they did not call the knight a dread variant. Other wise it would be knights in pods lol.

I try not to...

Not to think about it's legs under the pod...

Arms sticking out on the side, head at the top...

Pod Deploys, Knight in a skirt...

Definitely not a good image.
