I was just like looking at the wraith knight,orka-nauts, various tyranid bio-forms and the riptide. I notice some of these units are nearly as tall as things like stompas and an imperial knight. How is it , logic wise, they can be stomped by things barely taller than they are or tank shocked ? Does the enemy knock them down and trample-run it down ? And in the case of things like the klaw stompa, how would it logically throw the wreckage of a knight or wraith knight ? Does it tear it shreds, pummel it first or just pick it up whole (open fist style like warmachine-hordes ?) and throw it ?

What are your thoughts on this ?

Rules dont always equate well with fluff or logic.
In short: A wizard did it.

I cant think of much in 40k that works logically, from fluff to rules.

40k is a game for not thinking as much as possible...

I'm not sure, however I wish to quote something I found in an article on Dakka.

"That's Not How it Works in the Real World!"

Real world arguments are immediately irrelevant. This is a game of abstractions, and whether or not those abstractions make any sense, the rules depend on them to function. As an aside, these arguments are often flimsy at best anyway. These are games of Science Fiction and Magic. To make arguments that ray guns and mind bullets would work in a certain manner in the real world is silly.

Though it is referring to rules-based arguments, I do feel it is relevant here.

If I sound like I'm being a condescending butthole, I'm not. Read my reply as neutrally as possible, please and thank you.

I'm just trying to figure out how they would attempt going about doing it. I figure its possible, but I'm wondering how its done.

I like to imagine it as a kick and then a trample.

Hulk Hogan bodyslammed Andre the Giant. You don't need to be massively bigger than something to pick it up over your head, throw it on the ground, and then kick the gak out of it.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Have you ever had the inside of your foot stomped on? It hurts. The knight usually follows it with an eye poke.

Now picture the Transcendant C'tan (only 12-15 feet tall) and its large blast stomps.

I'm thinking that's something like The Hulk letting rip .

Consider them solid kicks rather then actual stomps.

I like to imagine it foot stomping a riptide

or kneeing a wraithknight square in the groin

That may be true, but given the big metal skirt, Im trying to imagine how it could get a foot up to stomp something like a wraith knight.

why do you only get overwatch against people charging. overwatch should be like in Xcom, you take can take it as soon as an enemy crosses your line of sight.

my point, does anything in 40k really make sense. the game is busted.

It does not even need to be a litural "stomp" with a leg, for example the Tctan does not step on things, it just creates a gravitational force to smash them to the ground.

The fact actions are covered by the same rule does not mean they are the same actions

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

If I could change Stomp, honestly it would be to give MCs and Walkers / Super Heavy Walkers something like Trample, and for every 3 Hullpoints the Model has base, they get a stomp attack, same rules as now, but cannot be used against MCs and other walkers / superheavies (For realisms sake) but confer bonus attacks to the walker when they fight against those said models.

To be fair, when Andre said to do it, Hogan was like "How the feth am I supposed to do this?" And Andre said "Trust me, "

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
