So because I need to watch my bandwidth a little more closely, I'm trying to find offline games to play. Thing is, I quite like the gameplay of multiplayer modes in games. I know TF2 has an offline mode with computer controlled allies and enemies that play in the same style as an online one. I was wondering if there were any other FPS or TPS games that have this sort of thing? Thanks!

Specifically ones with bots, or are you also looking for ones with good single player campaigns?

If you can find it, Star Wars Battlefront and the sequel support full offline battles independent of the campaign, and remain among the most fun game ever if you're a SW fan.

The Quake series usually has good bots. Quake 2 and Quake 2 Team Arena are old games, but still work on my computer. Excellent bots there.

Great! Thank you both. I'll look into those.

In my experience, Unreal Tournament, by contrast, has really, REALLY horrible bots that end up only being hard because they cheat.

You think they were bad in Unreal? Take the Unreal Bots and put them in Rainbow Six. Watch them shoot bullets out of the back of their guns and instantly head shot you

Ugh, yeah, I remember that. That was horrible...

At least in R6: Vegas 2 they had improved the AI to the point where it was one of the best FPS games ever made at the time of its release...

Actually, if you cang et it to work, I really recommend Rainbow 6: Vegas 2. Its multiplayer doesn't work without UPnP though, but you can still play bots in its version of multiplayer while offline, and the campaign is excellent anyway.

Oh I used to play it but the Machine Gun Glitch killed that game for me. So damn annoying... You're just running along shooting terrorists and then "zurzurzurzurzur" on and on and on and ond (you get the point) and on.

Hhh. ME3's multiplayer had that problem too, although ti was thankfully just a graphical glitch instead of an audio one, and it was due to lag.

I used to play that game too, then Origin tried to bend me over and - PG rated forum right.

Yeah, I avoid origin if at all possible. I have like... two games on there (ME3, BF4). And BF4 I kind of regret buying.

I have no idea if it's available on PC or not, but Medal Of Honor: Rising Sun had some great bot filled arenas to play in.. It was originally on the Game Cube, but I'm sure some enterprising soul might have ported it across..?

Edited for rank stupidity.. It was also on the Xbox, PS2 and the PC...

Going to disagree on the unreal tourney comments above. I thought the maps and bots on ut were absolutely great. And youll pick it up for pittance these days. Im referring to ut the 1999 version btw. See if you can get the goty edition.

It was an issue related to the Unreal engine.

Counterstrike source has bots, not sure about counterstrike GO.

Hit up Battlefield 1942 as well as the expansions.

Unreal Tournament 2k4, Battlefield series up to Bad Company (not sure the MP has bots but the single player games are SO fun.), Star Wars Battlefront 1+2, Half-Life 1+2+expansions (singeplayer games are great, and you can get bots for offline MP).

Edit: Older Tom Clancy games (Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon 1+2) are also pretty good.

UT2k4, just remember to put it on GODLIKE for that extra dose of rage.

I remember a time when I could beat those...

I ran with Battlefield 2142, which has 4v4 bot games. It might go up to 8v8.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 was a giggle.
There's also "Enemy Territory: Quake Wars".
Both are getting on a bit now though.

Holy cow, that brings up bad memories. As with Godlike bots that turn around MID-AIR without being able to see you, immediately throwing a pin-point accurate shock combo right at your face.

I wouldn't call this game actually playable against bots.
