Seems more like a mental health issue. Seems unlikely that the 82 year old woman was involved in some sort of turf war, which is when this kind of violence normally happens with money and drugs, and seems unlikely it was a robbery or some such given that he also beheaded the cat and attacked the flower bed.

That was my bad posting, I was talking about Avatar720's Manchester example.

The US and China don't tend to tell the world when they execute people either. Not attacking or defending capital punishment, but lets not pretend only Muslim countries do it, or that there is an equivalence with terrorist acts.

To be fair, I haven't seen the U.S. recently execute anyone over accusations of witchcraft , or because they turned from one faith to another.

even if he is muslim it doesn't mean he killed someone because he was Muslim, it could easily mean he decided to be Muslim because they have "morale" tenets that make murder "acceptable" in their culture under certain extreme "interpretations"

often people with sadist tendencies will seek to join groups that let them act out on them more openly, like the military, ISIS, gangs, the police, etc.

You are right. Other countries do use capital punishment. But as far as I know, none of them use beheading as the execution method . Not completely sure, though.

I would not be suppriesd if the Muslim bit had something to do with the choice of method, but I am sure that had he not been a Muslim convert that, if it is mental health issues, then he would have done something else. It would have been the Flying Spaghetti Monster telling him to strangle people with Linguine or Yoda telling him she was a sith lord (amusing it is that kind of mental health problem).

I would not be surprised if the insanity was there prior to the conversion. Because, you know, one needs to be quite mad to convert .

So sad for that poor old lady :(

had some crazy go cray cray up here not to long ago and decapitate someone on a greyhound.

Sounds like an incident of craziness as opposed to any kind of organized terror though.

funny, I see far more passive aggressive attacks on guns that make statements like "If she had a gun this would't have happened!" sarcastically then I do see people actually suggesting it seriously. THat and the fact that literally, hundreds of thousands of crimes actually ARE prevented by guns,

makes your statement passive aggressive, useless, condescending, and making light of the victim,

in the same way as if you sarcastically said after someone died in a fire "if she had a fire extinguisher, this wouldnt have happened!"

And I haven't heard of any Saudi executions causing someone to die a slow painful death recently, so let's not get in to a pissing contest of "my death penalty is better than your death penalty". Even the most ardent campanier against capital penalty would agree that there is a difference between capital punishment and a terrorist act when pushed.

Any murder of a non-muslim by a muslim is his answer to the call of jihad. ie Chechen cuts the throat of a bus driver while in transit in TN, it was treated as a local criminal case not an act of terrorism. If she was a non-muzzie then it should be treated as an act of terrorism.

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of the women.

So any violent crime committed by a muslim should be considered terrorism? Yeah that's absolute bs

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

The police are reporting it as a straight up murder and not terrorist related.

I don't buy that due to the MO. Frankly I think the police would say its not a terrorist attack even if he shouted Allah Akbar while beheading his victim, further copy cat attacks are the last thing the government wants.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

More likely they're not going to feed into the "terrorist scare" being people chain of thought is already linking it to a terrorist act (home grown)

I don't know ... I would think that perhaps the 82 year old lady was rather terrorized whilst he was carving away like she was a filet of fish. I think they should charge him as a terrorist ... I am in 'Murica and I am scared that things like this are going to happen here .... I better go buy more guns. Just execute him ... no trial, no jury. If he is insane, there is no doctor on the planet that is going to be able to fix him, if he is not insane, then he deserves to die.

Now, we like big books. (And we cannot lie. You other readers can’t deny, a book flops open with an itty-bitty font, and a map that’s in your face, you get—sorry! Sorry!)
