Basically I want to put imperial fist terminators inside iron fist land raiders, can it be done? Assuming proper force org requirements and all of that, I want it to be battle-forged.

Sure. Primary Imp. Fist with an Allied Iron Hands (or vice versa).

Or 2 CADs, one Imp. Fist, one Iron Hands.

Well, the are the same faction so you couldn't do an Allied Detachment. It would have to be a second CAD.

Ah... yet another way for GW to frell over non-imperial players. Great.

Why not do it all out of one FOC ndfollow one with part of your force just having a different paint job. Pick which list chapter tactics and whatnot and apply it to everything as though they are bought from the same list.

Because I imagine he wants the IWND on the LR, and perhaps an IH Techmarine with enough servitors to make him automatically pass the Blessing of the Omnissiah roll.
(The last part is speculation, but they do go hand in hand with each other rather well.)

Well no they are not the same faction if they have different chapter tactics, they are treated as battle brothers as per the errata. This allows you to use the allied detatchment at least.
