OK, the HH books were written for 6th and as yet haven't been updated for 7th.. so stuff like 'Combined arms detatchments', 'unbound' and the idea of multiple detatchments aren't integrated so you have to use your imagination a bit sometimes.
Knight households like are in the Imperial Knight book aren't integrated in 30k (as yet). Although nothing is really stopping you just taking the 40k version and pitting them against 30k armies.
There are two knights currently detailed for 30k (and the next book will have more)
The Knights Quaetoris and Ceratus Lancer are Lords of War choices in the Mechanicum Taghmata Ommnisiah army list.
(The Quaetoris is equivalent to the 40k knight but slightly different weapon profiles)
Note that Lords of war are a bit different in 30k. They can only be taken in above 2000 point games, can only be 25% of total points, but you can take two per slot if less than 9 hull points.
There is also a special Onslaught force org which lets you take two LOW (and only one troop- handy) and a Leviathan force org which lets you take 3 LOW, one of which gets bonuses.
Legion crusade armies (which use the 'age of Darkness' Force Org chart) don't explicitly have access to knights. Although their Lord of War selection is deliberately vague (any imperial unit detailed in an Imperial Armour or Apocalypse book) so you would get few complaints for fielding knights supporting legionaries. Automatically Appended Next Post: So the only way to get an entire Lord of War army is the Leviathan force org-- but this has the awkward restriction that the compulsory HQ LOW must be an 'Engine of Destruction' that is a super heavy vehicle with 9 or more hull points.
So you could have a Warhound with 4 knights in support, as a valid 30k detatchment.

I don't imagine you can take them in 30k as they're a Codex for 40k. It's got 'Warhammer 40k' written on it, just the same as you can't use a Stormtalon in games of 30k, or Gal Vorbak in games of 40k.

The HH games are more about narrative and story than anything else - there is nothing stopping you (with your opponents consent) in simply using the rules as an additional detachment as is with the HH lists. Vengeful spirit has a whole section about knights in the HH and how they deploy alongside other imperial forces.

30k is exactly the same as 40k in a number of respects. The main one though that it is identical in is that its a GAME for FUN. If you and your opponent agree you can take something you can!
Ironically, with brotherofbone's examples - I have a converted storm talon (swapping the assault cannons for a mega bolter array) I regularly use in my HH forces as an avenger fighter and also use gal vorbak as possessed in my CSM forces!

Paladins and Errants are old designs, pre-dating the Crusade, so do in fact have a place on a 30k battlefield. There is no reason to not include the Imperial Knight codex and its rules in a friendly 30k, until such time as FW kicks out Knight book of their own. We know entire Households fought on both sides of the Heresy, are fundamentally seperate from both the AdMech and the Astartes forces, yet not significantly changed from 20k to 40k. And it's not like they are overpowered in comparison to other 30k units.

Knights currently exist as Lords of War for Mechanicum Taghmata forces. With a bit of discussion, it would be simplist to use those profiles, but treat them as Lord of War options for Astartes as well as Mechanicum.

Gal Vorbak are on too large bases for normal possessed, you're meant to build them with the base you're provided with in the actual model, not Terminator sized bases.
And alright then, it's like using a Primarch in 40k games and Logan Grimnar in a 30k game, for better examples.

oddly enough both are now Lords of War, so would in theory work.
