Rap has redeeming features.
Well. Some rap does. It's essentially a form of poetry, good rap can be analysed to learn some really awesome things.
Nightcore only has redeeming features if you're a hamster.

Only if it isn't "gangster rap". And if the music is actully good (it usualy isn't). Nightcore is just sped-up songs, so I don't really even see it as a genre.

Don't really have one, whatever sounds good. I have some definite hates though (gangster rap, death metal/screamo, country, and most pop). I have an extremely eclectic taste in music.
