I have no sculpting skills, but I would like some Ork arms with short sleeves. Do any of the GW kits come with short sleeve arms? 3rd party arms?
Thanks

Some of the standard boyz arms have arm bands, so with a little trimming of unwanted detail, would easily represent t-shirt sleeves when painted.

I haven't seen any rolled up long sleeves on GW orks - but they'd be an easy first greenstuff project, pretty much just a small roll of greenstuff added to an arm then flattened.

Kromlech afrika korps

Thanks! But they don't seem to be selling them as just a bit. Maybe I will email them and find out if they will sell them separately from the afrika korps squad.

This is about the easiest Green stuff project you could undertake. Seriously. I am not maestro with GS, but this is pretty simple if you have the right tools. As said, roll out a sausage of green stuff, wrap it around the arm, spread it out with a flat tool, smooth it out, add some folds, and you're done. I've never seen a bit anywhere that was an ork arm with a rolled up sleeve. Give it a try with the GS - maybe you'll surprise yourself with you ability!

Having just negotiated a deal with some Kromlech bits, I can tell you Artur over there was willing to work out an agreement with me of a similar nature.

Cool customer service story from Kromlech: I needed only rocket sprues, not rocket and backpack sprues. Artur told me to put the regular item(s) in the basket and attach a comment to the order reminding him to swap the backpack sprues out for more rocket sprues. I did that and paid.

Upon delivery, I was disappointed to open the box and discover I just got the regular backpack and rocket sprues, not the custom selection of sprues upon which we agreed.

The next day, I sent him an email explaining the mix up.

He replied with, "we discovered our mistake just after putting it in the post for you, and sent you a second package. You should get it soon".

Not 10 minutes after reading his reply, there was a knock on the door. The postman needed a signature for the second package. I never expected a solution to arrive from Warsaw so quickly!

Nice timing. Great service. Beautiful casts.

Kromlech is superb.

Perhaps I will. I think the problem for me is I can't make the folds look natural to my eye. I always see the figure as having a blob of green stuff on the arm. The only green stuff project I was ever happy with on minis was putting high and tight hair styles on Escher gang members to fit with my Orlocks.

I also had trouble sculpting clothing folds. The secret to doing it is practice and to make the tools you need. I bought a set of sculpting tools thinking that they would help me, but they did not. Then I started using odd bits and ends (like spare bits) and found it much easier. You just have to play around with it, do a few test pieces, watch a few tutorials - get familiar with the process. It just takes time. Good luck!

My recommendation would be to use actual cloth, from an old handkerchief or some such but for the purposes of this demonstration I am using some thick kitchen paper towel.

An approximate 18mm square:

Folded back twice along one edge:

Wrapped around an ork arm and glued at the back:

Folded over at the back and glued down:

Once you've done that it will then need a wash or two of watered down PVA glue (approximately 50/50 dilution) for painting.
