Hi Guys,

I've been creeping this forum for a while now and thought it is time to sign up myself and show some of my progress to see what other people think of it.
I'm completely new to Warhammer 40k concerning all the rules, so my army setup may not be optimal.

To begin this thread I want to show you some pictures of Dark Vengeance Terminators that I converted to Nurgle Terminators.

#1 is finished and ready to go, the other two are still WIP but i think you can already see where they are going.

First Termi that got finished, gave him a heavy flamer and a LC

This was the Champion of the Squad and he will keep that position, Power Sword and Combi-Melta

Last WIP Picture of Termi #3 probably getting a Combi-Melta along with his LC

near Future Projects include:
- converting all Dark Vengeance Terminators (duh)
- Chaos Lord on bike
- might to a scrapbuild Typhus (not sure if it's worth it tho since I probably will be plaing little points games mostly)

That's it for my first post, I'm looking forward to critique and comments

P.S.: I'm actually one of ze evil Germans, so English is a foreign language for me. If you do find any mistakes I made feel free to point them out so I can change them and hopefully wont make them again

Pretty badass. You did a great job converting them, the only hint that they were from DV is the poses but it works well for them. The only thing critique I have is that the belly on the last terminator hangs too low for my taste. But everything besides that looks great

Your green stuff skills are fantastic, but I'm noticing one reoccurring issue - because you have distended the bellies and sculpted so much torso detail, they are looking kind of squat-ish. I think the only real way to combat this is to cut into the shins and put a plastic spacer in and resculpt. Seriously is just a minor complaint. These really are fantastic! Giving me ideas on what to do with my DV Termies...
And this doesn't go for all of them. Maybe more so the one with the tabard. May also just be the view.

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women. Grrr.

Awesome looking conversions so far and fantastic greenstuff skills, they look absolutly rotten.

Did you use so kind of press for the tentacles, they look so clean.

The big problem with those dark vengeance termies is finding something way use them for something other then dark angels... you sir found that solution.

Really like what you have done so far, I would like to see more/something done to the heads, still far to standard for me so far.

Looking forward to more.

Thanks for all the good comments so far, they really help in getting me to work more on my conversions after school
Might post some more updates this evening

@Rolt
I bought the Tube Tool from masqmini (http://masqmini.com/index.php/bees-sculpting/tools-n-stuff/tubetool.html) but I think the Green Stuff Industries one should work fine too (http://masqmini.com/index.php/bees-sculpting/tools-n-stuff/tubetool.html)
I use the masqmini one simply because shipping was cheaper

@SJM
I do see your point and I thought about that too. Truth is that I really like the "normal" Termi Heads a lot so I'll probably keep them this way. I might do something like this for some of them

The marine looks great! My only issue with the terminators is that the whole bloated belly thing is a little TOO big. If you had made a cracked lower part of the chest and had it bulging/sagging out from underneath, that could be cool.

More updates!!

I think I'm done with the Champion of the team. What do you guys think? Still needs work or ready to get painted?

Gave the fat one his spikes and "spine-thing"

and I started working on a new one
@Kepora
is this what you meant with your comment? I liked the general idea and just tried it out

and last but noit least a sneak peak of my biker lord

He will get a PF and a LC, both magnetized so he might switch to burning brand of skalathrax depending on what will work better against Space Wolves

Precisely! Don't be afraid to break/bend the plating to make it look "Burst" open.

I'll see what i can do, tho that requires more green stuff since its pretty much a solid model.

There might also be a Deamon Prince coming in the future after i get done scavenging parts from the hellbrute

*Edit
now I feel bad for doing this to such a beautiful mini...

Hey Pneumo, greetings from another Nurgle Player from Germany

I love your sculp art! I also would love to see a mini tutorial on how you do the tentacles ( die Schläuche )

Hey Zerkane, there is no big secret behind it all i did was use the Tube Tool from masqmini (http://masqmini.com/index.php/bees-sculpting/tools-n-stuff/tubetool.html) should be 20€ + shipping. If you're into sculpting and converting then it really is a great tool, especially for Nurgle.

*Edit
here are some more progress pics
@Kepora
I like this better than the version before, but somehow I'm not to happy with how it turned out. Maybe it will look better painted. What's your thought on it?

And the last of the DV Termis, he's getting new arms and got his helmet removed because I dont want to have two Termis looking the same

That's it for today, gonna go see Sin City 2 now

Awesome work! For the guy with his guts hanging out they look not quite to scale. A bit too high on the torso and too large. Think of all the armor he's encased in and how large he might be in comparison. The sculpting is phenomenal though and I'm sure it will look awesome painted, just a matter of preference on your end.

That might be the reason I'm not to happy with him, but then it's my first time sculpting guts (and these Terminators are my first sculpting results ever).

Termi #2 looks better I think, smaller guts and still the opinion to make the open belly a little lower. Maybe I'll even redo the first one depending on how #2 turns out.

Pretty much what Neth said. Move the guts lower and you're gold.

@Zerkane
I'm trying to keep him from getting to bloated, but the skin texture and face definetely helps. Thanks!

This is how far I got until now, I might even put him on a diorama once he's done. Always wanted to do a pool of Nurgle Slime

Looking great so far. Excellent use of greenstuff!

I’m sure glad GW is going to all plastic, so the ever-rising cost of white metal won’t impact the cost of their miniatures.

Can't wait to see this guy when you are done with him. keep us posted

The wolves go for the throat.
We go for the eyes.
Then the tongue.
Then the hands.
Then the feet
Then we skin the crippled remains.

Quick question concerning playing him. Would you equip him with the power amor? I'll be playing mostly against MEQs, space wolves being probably my enemy most of the time.

Just need to know if I should sculpt armor or not

Got a little more work in this evening, not much tho due to helping a friend move.

Black Mace anyone?
Spoiler:

I really love it, it's still WIP tho. I will add some more details to it.

Heh, reminds me of a mace or two from the The Elder Scrolls games. Definitely effective-looking!

Not to derail your thread - your GS skills are looking great! I think I may have to put one of those GS tools on my shopping list. I'd do something on some of them to break up the large flat area of their chests. Like this guy specifically:

I think maybe if you drilled out his respirator and left a tube of putty dangling down like a gas mask hose it would break up that area nicely, while also giving a real Nurgle/Plaguemarine look. You could leave it dangling loose (torn), have it going to a certain spot embedded into his torso, or even going to the left or right into his shoulder. (Just google Plaguemarine or Plague Marine to see lots of examples of what I mean)

Here's what I did with the guts for a plaguemarine champion. i figure lower works better, and dangling down even more so.

http://azazelx.wordpress.com/2010/04/16/realm-of-chaos/

Keep up the good work - it's inspiring to see such great conversions.

Orcish Mace from Skyrim to be specific, yeah I have to admit I love Elder Scrolls

@Azazelx
The Termi you posted was done in a hurry becuase I mixed quite a bit of GS for a different project but then had to leave for something else. But I think you're right, especially about the heads (like so many before you) I should at least add some tubes to them. I'll make sure to add that to my list

Hey guys, it's me again

Unfortunately I have no new pictures right now because I had a lot of other things to do this weekend. Now that I have school again I can squeeze some hours in during homework, so pictures schould follow tomorrow.

I do however have a question to you guys concerning my black mace.
The description in the rule book says "This malefic mace is said to have been cursed by each of the Deamon Primarchs.", so what do you guys think of embodying some part of every god in it? For example skull chains on it's end for Khorne, a rotten mace "top" for Nurgle and so on.
The blades/metal on the mace will be in a dark metallic black with no rust or usage signs.

If you do like the idea what would be your suggestions for Slaanesh and Tzeentch? As I have no idea how to add those to the mace...
Maybe short whip with spikes on one end of the mace for Slaanesh?
And for Tzeentch a staff looking end? Then I'd have to add the skulls somewhere else...

another approach would be doing skin faces on the blades of the mace (either small or big ones) or even "place" two gods on the blades and the other two on the handle.

As you can see I really need some ideas with this

I would prefer having "living" renditions of the Traitor Legions logs on the blades of the Mace personally. That would be awesome
