It looks wonderful, mate!
My only issue is the soft joints on the armor, they blend into the armor a little too much.
And I think the gold looks just fine the way it is!

Hmm you're right about the joints, I could go over those with a black ink wash - always comes out darker than Nuln Oil. I do like the gold, but I think a very light silver drybrush would finish it off nicely...
