All of this stuff is making me feel like I should just drop my existing 40k stuff and go on to playing 30k. I mean, I actually want to play Space Marines, and I haven't wanted to do that in forever!

Anything non-imperial mentioned? Or was it all 30k?

It is the HORUS HERESY Weekender. So I imagine not.

I'd say do it. If you like the setting, the FW HH stuff is amazing. It's pricey, but I actually feel like I'm getting what I pay for, particularly the books.

The new Mechanicum squid things are going to be a troop choice, large unit size, high toughness, low autonomy, armed with irad, like a destroyer squad.

There are two types of ordinatus: minoris and majoris.

I guess they are gonna start with the minoris.

Bit disappointed by the Solar Auxilia command squad, they look too Astartes in my humble opinion and way too blinged up for an army that works so well with simple space suits and basic survival gear.

He's probably not part of the command squad, seeing as we've got a Strategos (leader), Vexilla (standard bearer) and Proclaimator (nuncio vox), plus two blinged up regular veterans.

He's probably for the next book, or he could be Lord Marshal MaSade.

Forge World is a different animal to GW. Obviously they're moremhonest about their inspiration.

I do like the grimdark maser cannon though, but holy hell I hate to think of how much it costs.

Also the Marine flyer is definitely the best-looking Marine flyer that they've released so far. Damn shame that never came out in plastic, really.

As a person who focusses on pure Space Marine stuff these previews of models are quite underwhelming. The Alpha Legion character is great, Ultramarines and Raven Guard stuff is solid ... but thats it? Hopefully some more photos of some other WIP models are coming up ... if only from the seminars.

I like how they are plugging the few remaining holes in the standard Legion list- laser destroyer Vindicator (a homage to the old Sabre I think it was called?), quad-launcher Rapier- it will be good to have all options available.

Dynat indeed looks awesome, I particularly like how is is using a Salamanders thunderhammer- trophy of war?

The Mechanicus stuff looks great, I reckon the cannon on the Thanatar variant is some kind of lightning gun from the coild round the base of the barrel.

Marine flyer looks great, and the Ultramarines upgrade pack has a slightly Classical Greek style to it, I really like it. Maybe they are going for a sort of Eastern Roman/ Byzantine empire kind of theme, with the Ultramarines nearly succeeding?

Solar Auxillia look great, I think the bling works, seeing as they are meant to be pretty high up right? Isn't the rank Marshall or something? Also, the Master of Telescopes looks pretty cool.

The Ordinatus just looks incredible. Pity it will probably be many years before I can afford one.

I have my fingers crossed ... in one seminar they talked about Dorns massive chainsword so I hope he is in the works

I think it started 5 minutes ago so we'll know soon. I'll assume Dorn is next because of the amount of IF stuff out lately but we'll see!

Samus is a daemon from Horus Rising and Know No Fear. He's the big rat/dog/gorilla daemon thing I posted a photo of

That Samus deamon prince model looks like it was sculpted by Trish Carden, I can tell she did, because I really don't like it. The pose and proportions seem off to me.

Samus is a voice that is heard every once in a while, like a daemon. It first showed up in Horus Rising, when a guy Jubal (spelling?) became possessed and attacked his own.

Prior to weird stuff happening (chaos stuff), you can always hear his voice on the Vox. It also comes up in the second book of the trilogy...

Samus is a daemon, not like a Daemon. He appears in Know No Fear on Calth when the WB summon loads of daemons.

I never noticed he showed up *facepalm* (audiobook) i just heard his voice and assumed weird stuff was about to happen.
