Has anyone else noticed that the bundles have been getting better? The GK one was pretty good and if the DE rumors are correct, the Troop choice with Raiders ones look pretty ok. While GK will not probably lower prices, these sets do make it more economical to create armies in recent months.
What do you guys think?

I think that we need to separate the "one-click bundles"(the one-click bundles have no savings as they are just the items put together to save you those valuable clicks) from the actual "bundles" that they have been doing as replacements for battalions/battleforces.
The second ones give you a decent amount of savings and have their own box with the intent being that those items are on the shelves to bring new players in.

It does seem like they are getting away from “get a crappy unit free” battle forces and releasing a number of good boxes.

Agreed. I was ignoring the "one click bundles" as they are silly. I was focusing on the mini battle forces.

Since the SM release they've been dong some good ones. The Strike Force, Swarm and Cadian Defense Force are all excellent deals ideal for new players. The Marine one remains the best due to the points value therein vs 'nids and Guard, but they're still great.
The Forgeworld bundles have also been pretty solid too, but I think both sides realize in an age of discounters and, gasp, sales it's worth adapting a little bit of that themselves.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

The bundles are good and overall, they seem to go for lower prices on their products. Slight changes, but they are there. Plus: their recent releases have been top-notch. End Times is extremely well-written.
Maybe there's hope.

The strike force type bundles include roughly a 30% discount. Combined with a discounter discount and not being regionally priced, it amounts to relatively decent prices. $24 for a squad of 10 tac marines for example in the SM SF... but also $30 for 5 terminators in the SM SF Ultra which is still $6 per mini which is over the top for being slightly larger than marines. I paid $200 for 150 infantry and 6 tanks in bolt action recently, $1 per infantry and $8 per tank... still much better than GWs discounted bundle prices.

It's not a patch on how it used to be but at least they are not throwing in useless units as much.
But even with a discount it's still stupidly expensive compared to other games out there, and less fun than most of them as well.

Apparently you haven't priced WMH models. $50-60 for 10 man infantry made out of crappy material with horrible mold lines in the worst places, flash, soft details, parts that don't fit, and you will most likely be missing a piece and have to wait 2 weeks for a replacement. The second part is totally subjective.

The second part is totally subjective. Really? WMH models typically have missing pieces I've not had that experience, so I'm not inclined to believe that bit. I will agree that details on their models are hit-and-miss, some with mold lines- these issues are more respective of the plastic models (the metal models do not have the same problems). Both WMH and GW models are priced high IMO. WMH tends to be a little cheaper but not by much/not always. That game gets by not requiring you to buy 3-4 of the same kit to make a functional army however.

I was just looking at the Strikeforce Ultra, the set with the exclusive Terminator captain, 20 Terminator, a Stormraven, Land Raider Crusader, and Venerable Dreadnought. You're saving over $100 with that set, and I think that's really cool. After GW started cutting down on battleforces and removed megaforces entirely I got worried, but I'm happy to see them popping up again.
