Spotted these on BoW, have gathered together a few more pics than their rather sparsely illustrated article..

If you don't recognise at least a couple of these, I'm afraid you need your nerdentials renewed!

Ian Livingstone himself is involved with signing off on the finished sculpts apparently.

Could be one to watch.

Yeah, I have a real soft spot for the books, in many ways my first step into this hobby, began reading them long before I ever even knew miniatures existed.

The Blood Beast from Deathtrap Dungeon and the thing (I forget what it's called) from Forest Of Doom are ones I remember with especial fondness, and do I recall correctly that the crown on the Lizardman was some sort of mind control parasite?

Wow. I am impressed. For miniatures so very faithful to 80s-era fantasy art, these are beautiful, modern miniatures. Who are the sculptors?

Maybe it's more a question that some of us (myself included) are simply showing our age!

I personally grinned in delight when I saw that shagnasty off the front of "Deathtrap Dungeon" - very impressed, and will be getting one.

At the very least I'm all over that Bloodbeast. That cover made Deathtrap Dungeon jump out at me, and so began my love of FF.

You'll have to forgive us Americans, Fighting Fantasy wasn't as big over here.

On the other hand, I am a fan of Joe Dever's Lone Wolf.

For all you "youths" out there,

Take a moment and educate yourselves!

These were of an era when video games were barely a thing, Warhammer was only just entering 2nd Edition (maybe 3rd?) and the new kid on the block was some young hoodie carrying a knife called Rogue Trader.

Choose Your Own Adventure meets Dungeons & Dragons.

You rolled up character stats at the start of the book, then followed the story like a CYOA book but with monsters to fight along the way.

great stuff, i'm going to be getting some of those. my introduction to the whole fantasy thing was finding a copy of Seas of Blood (a mid period FF book) at a jumble sale in about 1991.

What I remember back in the day was TSR's Endless Quest series and Joe Dever's Lone Wolf. I also remember reading Way of the Tiger, but I can't recall if I ever saw Fighting Fantasy.

And, for the Lone Wolf fans who don't already know, you can read/play all the books at http://www.projectaon.org/en/Main/Home

Woa, these are very nice and take me back in time (I used to play the Swedish translation of these books)!

I'm a bit confused though, Otherworld Miniatures have just released their first Fighting Fantasy mini, and have announced that they'll be coming out with more. So what's the setup with the companies and licensing here?

@Azreal13 Lol. There's elements of CYOA in it. The fighting sections are like Infinity Blade though. Big fan of the Sommerswerd

I did play Talisman of Death, Starship Traveller and House of Hell though.

I recognized the Deathtrap Dungeon monster, but that's because I think I saw it in an old magazine back in the day. Nothing wrong with having an old school vibe with a bit of a modern flair!

I loved those game books/ COYA books back in the day. I had just about every Lone Wolf book. I remember a neat pirate themed/ Sinbad one, having to recruit crew members, keep provisions on your boat, stuff like that. I can sort of recall our monthly scholastic book orders having a fair share of COYA books too.

Pisses me off because as a teacher now, and having access to all those catalogs, none of those books are in there any more.

I'm totally going to be ordering physical copies of those new Mantic Dungeon Saga books, just to relive the page flipping and number cheating.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

it could well be Otherworld have a non-exclusive licence which would mean other companies could also do stuff

or Otherworld may have the 28mm licence and these are larger eg 35mm (Judge Dredd has multiple licences at only slightly different scales)

or Otherworld may have a licence for 'gaming' miniatures (although you could collect them), whereas these are 'collectible' miniatures (although you could game with them)
