I don't know if it's just the picture, but I'd say a little highlighting on the carapace could help.
Other than that- great stuff!

Very nice and properly alien! All is suggest is toning the solid pink areas down with a wash, to bring out the detail a little more.

Good stuff!

What he said, a bit of shade needed.

Also the hard carapace bit on its back, is it all one colour(matt) ? It needs something like a petrol look(the blue/purple colour you see in the black of oil/petrol) to catch the eye.

Anyway small points, it looks amazing

He is painted quite well, and I especially like the spotting. The very dark and light is going well for you. Definitely good work for twenty minutes- your composition is doing a lot of your work for you.

Since you asked for criticism, here are a few ways to make him better, if you feel inclined.

- I think it might be nice if you deepen some of the shadows on the skin, it will give him a little more 'mood' (at least, it will look more like he's in the dark corridors of a space hulk). Make sure that you don't darken the top of his head or the highlights on his face- that area is rightly drawing attention.

- Also- I think he could use a little lining where the pink areas touch (the Space Hulk minis especially need some deliberate lining).

- The other issue he is facing is that 'stealers tend to look like they're wearing odd clothing (you've gotten away from the body suit they normally wear, but this one kind of has a onsie on). this is a universal stealer problem, and usually the remedy is to pick out some of the details in the opposite color (basically, if you make the joints into the dark color, this effect would go away).

Thanks for posting him.

I think it looks quite nice - but please keep in mind the "Showcase" forum is only for 'finished' models, including the base.

Thanks!

He's based on a frosted metal girder... *cough* ]

Thanks for all the feedback, OG especially with the detailed criticism.

The Carapace was just base + quick drybrush, and i definitely agree about darkening the lining of the mini. He was a quickie tester to see if i liked the scheme before i tackled the Broodlord and his pals. The Broodlord is a great miniature. Thanks again!
