At our club we've been doing the Sanctus reach campaign, but with none imperial races playing the role of the imperium in a few cases so as not to discriminate against non imperial players.

As Ork players we have played this 2k Lyanden list a few times and it is FILTHY!

It's nothing but Wraith guards, Wraith Lords, and Wraith Knights. The softest unit is T6 and most of the weapons spit out S7+ weaponry.

To give you an example of how much trouble Da Boyz is having with this list, The Army has tabled both us Ork players by about turn 6.

An Eldar farseer casts invisibility on a squad of these monsters and they charge the Orks and that's it. 6's to hit, 6's to wound and then they get 3+ saves.

Has any Ork player found a way to deal with such a horrible list?

Wraith guards have power weaponry, yeah? I'd say Meganobz for the guards paired with big blobs of boyz to tarpit the lords and knights. Get a wagon full of Meganobz in against the wraith guard and I dunno hope he doesn't get Invisibiouty?

That's Wraithblades. Wraithguard don't even have AP and have 1 attack IIRC.

Lol. You're gonna have a heart attack the day you run into an actually good Eldar list.

He has very few units, most of whom are very slow and deal poorly with hordes. Bog him down and win the mission.

My suggestion: Shake his hand and thank him for making a list that you've got a chance of fighting.

Wraithknights aside, the Iyanden supplement focuses on some of the most lackluster units in the Eldar codex. He could be spamming wave serpents, building psychic invisible psychic deathstars, or just simply flooding the field with jetbikes. Wraithguard are about the best thing that orks could hope for. They're slow. Their weapons are very short range. And they're exceedingly expensive, which means the army suffers from a remarkably low model count.

My recommendation? Count yourself lucky.

Yeah just bog down his units and make sure your klaw nobs arent in the front row. One nob can bring a wraithknight to its knees in two good rounds of combat. You have mobility on him. Play objectives. His shooting is mostly short ranged.

Just swamp his big wraiths and kite the little ones. Orks have so much S8 AP3 wraithguard shouldnt be an issue. Use tankbustas on them. Use klaws on the big 'uns.

Could going unbound and spamming weird boyz be a solution to invisibility?

For the guy who leaves it all on the field (because he doesn't pick up after the game).

Kannon and tankbusta spam could likely make pretty short work of his list.

Throw in a couple blobs of boyz with rokkits and pk nob to go after the knights, while mass kannons and bustas go after everything else. Could you give us what you had in your army just so we can have an idea of what can possibly be improved.

Oh, come on. It's Orks, not Space Marines. Why bother with invisibility when you can render them useless in CC (and force a morale check, which often ends in head-bashing) with Terrify instead?

Well In a 2k list took 2 Battlewagons with 19 choppas + nob with powerklaw, and warboss in mega armour with lucky stick, 5 meganobs and painboy. A footslogging blob of 30 plus nob with powerklaw and a warphead, 20 stormboyz*, and 30 gretchin, and a truk with 10 burna boyz.

The list was intended to cover all bases as I did not know who I'd be fighting.

The simple number of of High Toughness units (with high initiative low AP attacks actually meant the meganobz were useless, they were wiped out by a wraith-lord pair after they charged with a S10 weapon and challenged out the warboss. The attacks on the warboss were S10 and struck first so all he had to do was cause a single wound on a 2+ and he was instagibbed with no saves. (I'll never forgive them for getting rid of the 5+ cybork invun save). The same was true for the 3 surviving meganobz, who were removed without saves or fnp allowed before getting to even flex their powerklaws.

Before I was tabled I took out a unit of wraithguard and a wraithlord. but everything else was generally obliterated, and either hacked down after losing combat and failing leadership or ran off the board after

*However, a very big determinant maybe that the 20 storm-boys I was going to use scattered 10" into an enemy unit and rolled a 1 on the mishap table, so losing 200 points in turn one was probably quite to my detriment.

The other Ork player was tabled by the same guy the following week, but I was playing someone else that week; needless to say I took less meganobz and more big gunz.

Green tide with Big Bosspole on the warboss. That's up to 11 klaws hidden in 101 fearless bodies.

Koptas with tl rokkits could also help.

Wraithguards are plain useless vs boyz unless they carry flamers. And they're very vulnerable to KMK and rokkits. Besides, they're weak in mellee. Boyz + nobz murderize them.

Wraithknights can just challenge out the PK nobz in boys squads, leaving them with no way to hurt them in cc. Is tarpitting even an option now boyz are no longer fearless?

Wraithknights are not characters. Wraithlords are. Wraithlords have 3 Wounds and nob will deal 1-2 unsaved wounds on the charge meaning that you just need a well-placed rokkit to make the job easier. 15 pt meks eat challenges when needed.

Knights are not something that orks are afraid of. Wave serpents are more problematic. Even if you decline a challenge with a wraithlord and fail ld, mob rule will help you stick in the fight much longer.
