So it comes to my attention that there is nothing that restrains a big mek from having a bike and a sag (that I can find). Having a sag mek in a warbiker squad could actually synergize pretty well I'd think, since they prefer to shoot stuff rather than assault it anyways.

The other thought I had was put him on a bike in a kmk artillery unit to give them relentless, and make the mek t7 too.

What do me fellow ladz think of this mischief?

Certainly an option, but there isn't really an advantage in putting the SAG in a bike squad. He could be in a larger, static unit. He reduces the biker flexibility.

Painted armies:

Orks: 11000 points
Marines: 9500 points
Khorne Marines: 2500 points
Khorne Demons: 1500 points

Still...something about moving 12" and being able to shoot a pie plate at something seems really awesome. If for nothing else but fluff purposes.

bike gives relentless and +1 toughness, nobody said you have to put it with bikes. on a bike with boys works, so does on a bike with gretchin

I'd put him on a bike with koptaz, they make a pretty good retinue, and have a bit better range than most.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Agreed, koptas. Generally the sag is firing at elites anyway so the bigshootas can wound them too (you could go rokkits but i'd prefer the extra 12" distance). Yes the SAG can wound/pen anything potentially, but face it the average strength is usually ~4-7 so its more for the AP2 pi plate than the strength.

Typically the bike would be wasted points since the sag fires 60" away, but sometimes they dont have a perch to sit on. The added toughness and armor makes him considerably more durable, since most of the long range attacks are S8/9 that actually can reach him. Might as well get him Cybork too...as painful as it is to say this...the extra 6+ fnp could be useful since youre already investing a bike on him

Ya I think you guys are right, koptas would be better.

What about putting him with a kmk artillery unit? It would allow the kmk's to move and shoot and make the mek next to impossible to kill at range with all the ablative wounds from the grots.

Course it would be SLIGHTLY overkill for most units having that many ap2 blasts shooting at them, but who cares!!

That would require mega armor, not a bike, to allow the kmk battery to shoot after moving. Bikes are relentless, that doesnt confer to the unit, SNP does.

That tactic is pretty much owned by the Tellyportablasta Mek, since he also has an AP2 blast and confers SNP. Give him Da Stikk and now its a T7 unit with a rerollable 2+ armor, LoSing any pens lol.
Wanted to do that for awhile, my issue is finding the rest of the army that works lol

Don't mind me just mixing up rules again.

That would be interesting to see a Tellyportablasta mek in a kmk unit, I vote you try it! In fact, why don't you just go all out and take four of them! That should take care of your problem of making the rest of your army work lol!
