Does anyone out there in the web way know anything rumour, fantasy or perhaps even fact about the second in the series book from mr abnett about our two friendly heroes? It's all gone mysteriously quite.....for a very very long time.

Dan Abnett's blog, maybe?

Bequin trilogy is slated to be worked on after his current set of Horus Heresy novels are finished with.

So a year two yet. Not a mad fan of huge breaks between books, very annoying. My mum always says don't start something you can't complete!

Well I doubt your mum is an author with multiple book series commitments being at least to an extent dictated by the company who publishes said books.

Maybe not but she is a principal of a large inner city school, sits on multiple education boards, volunteers as a visitor in local retirement homes on weekends and is secretary of the local garden society. Ya cheeky imp!

So she's the one who gives people five jobs and expects them all done in the time it should take to complete one, instead of the person (Abnett) who gets given five jobs and has people demanding they're all done by next week?

This is more important than you realise, I think you will find that a certain superhero comic book company that dwarfs GW is more to blame here (Abnett was involved with Guardians of the Galaxy fyi).

indeed if you watch to the end credits of Guardians of the galaxy the credits say "based on a graphic novel by Dan Abnett"

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

The first book of the trilogy is out already, I believe.

Yes, it is, hence why I said 'worked on' rather than 'released' or 'begun'.

It is.

But as noted, he forever gets dragged into other things. The Horus Heresy is the big one, but he also generates Gaunts Ghosts stuff - I believe one of the Event-only novellas at this year's Black Library Weekender is a Sabbat Worlds thing.

Plus Marvel Comics, as noted. And some of his own books like Embedded.

For that matter, if you ever meet him, ask him about Fighter City. That's the sequel to Double Eagle. Which is coming. Eventually. When Black Library actually let him write the bloody thing.

It was originally slated last year by Abnett to be out for Octoberish. Then guardians of the galaxy happened.

Sigh.

To be fair though, Guardians was awesome - though I do think we'll be waiting for another year to get the next installment.

I agree guardians was an amazing film and I really want another few instalments. But I do want more inquisitorial books from BL and the ravenor Eisenhorn thing is the only promise on the horizon to take me away from a bleak landscape of space marine novels. perhaps BL could bring back Ian Watson for some inquisition magic to keep us busy while Dan is off in the yonder.
