Subject: Insert YOURSELF into my Deathwatch Kill Team!
As it says. I have a small (ish) Deathwatch Kill Team, and I am in the process of creating fluff for each and every one of them. So I will post a list of each Deathwatch Marine, his wargear, and his Chapter. Some are fixed (Ultramarines Watch Captain Titus), but the rest can all be taken. So go ahead, choose a guy, and make him yours!
Librarian Castiel - Force sword, bolt pistol - Dark Angels -CLAIMED
Sergeant Claudio was a stalwart space marine noble and tactile as most warriors of Ultramar. Hailing from the 3rd company, a veteran of many campaigns including the siege of vanarax against the orks, various dark eldar raids and his latest, an attack on a tau settlement on the eastern fringe, where the xenos had over reached into imperial space. His taskforces' mission, codenamed taskforce epsilon-35, was to cut off the single shipping lane into the system and perform surgical strikes to disorient the standing military on the single habitable world in the system. Claudio was under personal command of the taskforce a large command even for a veteran first sergeant. He performed his task to the letter planning and executing it in perfect order. First he ordered the fleet accompanying his force to flank around the furthest planets moon and wait for the planet pass to the far edge of the system where the shipping lane entered the system then strike. The tau fleet was destroyed in rapid succession after that the next phases of the attack were like the fall of dominoes, ending with the final assault on the planetary capital where he personally led his squad to victory not losing a single man. He was immediately under the eye of the deathwatch after they learned of his prowess against all types of xenos.
Brother Seraphan was simply another scavenger on the harsh world of Baal Secundus. But, he always took risks, be it waiting as long as possible before throwing a grenade, or getting as close as possible to a rampaging mutant, he was first in, last out. Finally the games came to Baal Secundus. The Blood angels arrived and began recruiting. Many were favourites, but Seraphan was not one of them. However through cunning, skill, and incredible luck, he was inducted into the chapter and became a scout. It was noted that as a scout he never once fell prey to the red thirst, but had a tendency for using up-close and personal weapons, such as the shotgun. He received massive fame amoung his squad when, battling a small group of Tyranids, he single-handedly eliminated ten of them, using only his frag grenades and a knife. Soon he was inducted into the assault squads, and roaring down from a drop-ship, his chaplin noticed that he was showing signs of the red thirst. Sure enough, when he landed he released an animalistic scream, and waded through hordes of Orks, chainsword getting stuck once or twice. When he had finished, the thirst receded, and all was well. In the next engagement however, him and his squad managed to take down a number of Goff nobz, winning many laurels. However it soon became apparent that Seraphan would never become a Devastator. He couldn’t keep control of the red thirst, and many feared that this exemplary fighter would fall pray to the black rage. But he never did, and gained a reputation for an exemplary hunter of vehicles, and heavy infantry alike. When he became a tactical marine, he quickly earned himself his weapon, the Angels Light, an old combi-melta that had served it’s previous wielder well. Using this weapon he managed to bring down opponents that his brethren simply could not, but after the crucial moment, it was guaranteed that the thirst would take him. When he was called into service for the deathwatch he did so willingly, and has proved himself more than adequate at taking down enemy infantry and vehicles alike. His armour kills involve something from nearly every race, be it an Eldar Wave Serpent, An Ork Trukk, or even a Tau Hammerhead, Seraphan will always rise to the challenge.
Brother karrack, once known as assault sergant justafar. His rise in the templers was fast, a zelous warrior, unyielding and steadfast. Before taking the black he wielded duel lighting claws and a prized suit of termaitor armour. But his fall began. He was too ageressive, his zeal overtook his restraint, experience did not temper his fire despite his 2 long service studs. Small incidents, but noted, never slated for promotion, and then his darkest day, seeing his Marshall fall, he lead the charge against the savage and untrustworthy dark eldar. Many where lost, the banner once held by the undefeated sigmound and blessed by Dorn himself in the dark kins hands. 10,000 years held at the head of a crusade now defiled by xenos. Stripped of his rank, disowned by his brothers. At the chapel the emperor guided his choice, to take the black sheild and swore a holy vow, once he was forgiven by the emperor and earn his chapter colours once more but until that day serve the death watch as brother karrack. His armour locked in a secret vault, a deal between both death watch and templers. Taking a suit of power armour and a unadorned but long proven bolter with compact but powerful plasma gun built into its design, a relic of a long dead master of the forge. Beginning his vigil at the watch, he fights with a cold fury to reclaim his name and honour or die in the attempt.
Brother Capulet was seen as a marine with a reputation to hit all his targets when he fought for the Imperial Fists. If a job involved destroying a enemy vehicle or halving a number of xenos in a horde then Capulet won't rest until his target is lying in pieces on the planets floor. When the Deathwatch came to the Imperial Fists looking for recruits Capulet was overshadowed by his peers. When Capulet found he was not being recruited to the Deathwatch he felt like he had let his chapter and himself down. After that he vowed to be even better at increasing the number of casualties he caused after a battle on the outskirts of the Segmentum Obsurus sector he was finally noticed by the Deathwatch. When he returned to the battle barge he was approached by several marines in black power armour. He was taken to the war room where he encountered a Deathwatch librarian. The librarian was later known as Castiel. Brother Capulet was allowed two days two think about joining the Deathwatch but when he found out that great veterans are asked to join he knew that it was what he was destined to do. After many years serving as a marine of Dorn he was now a famed marine of the Deathwatch.
Eperus was never one for jump packs, unlike his brothers he found them loud, and "uncivilized". But, as if to make up for this, Eperus took to stealth with an unbridled zeal, often forgotten, even by his own squad-mates. Eperus has always been fond of his bolter. An elegant, accurate, and above all else, deadly Stealker-pattern bolter. He willingly, and almost with relief, joined the Ordo Xeno's deathwatch when came time. Unlike many of his allies in the Deathwatch, Eperus holds no past grudges or secrets, just an urge to herald in humanity on all non-imperium planets, which he finds a little disturbing deep down in the back of his head. He has always been a realist, quoted as saying "Everything dies, it's just a matter of when, and how" and is devoted to trying to tie the never ending war and often times extreme actions of both friend and foe down in any logical way, but often ushering such thoughts down as "un-important" However the most odd thing about Brother Eperus is that he always seems just on the verge of sickness and has never quite looked "healthy" since his first encounter with the Death guard traitor legion. But even more curious, is that when in the presence of the Deamons of the warp, Plague bearers won't attack, but gravitate to Eperus, ignoring him even as his rifle barks out death. It has even been seen greater unclean ones blocking the path of other daemons moving towards Eperus, though anyone who mentions it is swiftly "spoken too" by Eperus himself.
Scout-sergeant Raphael of the Blood Angels earned his fame during the Ork invasion of Armageddon. Teams of scouts were dispatched into areas of the hive world heavily occupied by Ork forces. The scouting missions provided little intelligence on any enemy movements due to the unpredictable nature of the Ork force and so their mission directive was altered. The scout teams were ordered to infiltrate enemy encampments, free any slaves and hinder the Orks as much as possible before extracting during the chaos that they had created. Raphael led his scouts deep into occupied territory, taking care to operate only under the cover of darkness. With so much Ork activity going on, there could be no telling what misfortune any wrong move would bring upon them. Ammunition dumps and other targets of high value were rigged with explosive charges that were detonated simultaneously to make tracking his team's movements impossible. The sergeant had been informed that there was a group of Imperial citizens being held in an encampment nearby, detected by the long range scanners of the fleet in orbit around Armageddon. So far into their own occupied territory, the Ork leaders had become complacent and let many sentry towers fall into disuse. This allowed Raphael's team to approach the encampment undetected with ease, covering their tracks and taking out any stray Orks randomly patrolling the area or sentry towers that were being manned. Any single casualties that Orks found laying around this far into their own occupied territory were common place - it is in their nature to challenge each other and make displays of strength, often without their opponents even being aware. Thus, bodies strewn around the encampment attracted no attention to the presence of the scouts. Raphael's team remained in place around the encampment for two days, picking out weak points and gathering as much information as possible about the Imperials being held within the central compound as well as what Ork forces frequented the area. A member of the team reported that there was in fact an Ork general running the compound who had taken many high profile officials as captives, including a tech-priest. Through a daring ambush, Raphael's team managed to sow confusion amongst the Orks, with Raphael personally putting a sniper round through the right eye of the Ork general sending the others into a killing frenzy. The captives were slaughtered as well as the Blood Angels after the Orks had finally discovered the source of the precision sniping. The scouts fought with immense skill and martial prowess, but their light armour combined with the sheer weight of fire from the Orks brought down all but Raphael. The tech priest had escaped to the outskirts of the compound during the confusion, where the sergeant found him sabotaging a fuel line that the Orks had been using. Raphael and the tech-priest were hunted down for several days as they made their way back to the hive cities still under Imperial control, managing miraculously to evade capture due to his extensive knowledge of stealth strategy. The tech-priest was able to provide the Imperial forces with vital knowledge that proved instrumental in the elimination of the Ork threat on Armageddon for the time being. Captain Titus saw the opportunity to recruit the lone scout-sergeant into the ranks of the Deathwatch after he had proved himself against impossible odds. Since he had single-handedly changed the balance of a large part of the war, it seemed fitting to Titus to not only make him sergeant of a Deathwatch scout squad, but also to bestow upon him the title of Deathwatch Kill-Marine. On several occasions thus far, Raphael has proven himself invaluable in his role as kill-marine and is a solid member of the kill team.
Even before recruitment, Ecthillion was always a precise and effective marksman. He lived in the gangs of Necromunda, always being the brain and brawn behind every operation the gang committed. It was during a raid that he found an engraved sniper rifle. The inscription read "Silent Death". Ecthillion treasured this sniper rifle as if it was his own child, modifying it, cleaning it, and taking lives with it. When the Imperial Fists came to Necromunda, he was found by the Libarian recruiting. Although not pure, the Libarian found the powers and tactile abilities in his mind. He knew that Ecthillion would be a powerful marine. Eventually, Ecthillion was inducted into the 10th Company of the Imperial Fists, and he got to keep "Silent Death" as the Techmarines approved of it. He was shortly put into a combat against a chaos incursion on the hive world Atarus. He was the fifth member of Squad Delta, who was tasked with recapturing a Shrine Imperialis, they managed to infiltrate undetected, but it had all been a setup, detonation charges had been placed around the Shrine, it was obliterated. Hours later Ecthillion awoke to darkness, and his whole squad dead around him. "Silent Death" had been taken from him. He found an undetonated charge in the rubble and started to travel. Five days later the Imperial Fists found the chaos headquarters had been decimated, and Ecthillion had returned to his chapter, with "Silent Death" in his hands. The incursion had ended thanks to the skills of Ecthillion. However, he was not the same outgoing man he had been, he was now brooding and quiet unless spoken to. After many more conflicts where his skill was proved time and time again, the Deathwatch came and recruited him, we went happily with them, or has happy as he could be. He and "Silent Death" are now part of the elite, he shall always find a chink in enemy armour, or an open eye. He shall bring death to the Imperium's foes.
++++++++++++++++++++ Password Confirmed Brother Oberyn Current Status - Blackshield member of DeathWatch, Sniper scout. Decrypting file..............File Decrypted Alberich Henross Former Invaders Space Marine While stubborn, reckless and brutal could be used to describe any member of the Invaders Chapter, none chased these Chapter ideals harder and with more zeal the Alberich. All ways pushing himself to live up to the old glories of the Chapters past and combing them with the current bitterness of the the Chapter; Alberich was an Invader exemplified. A natural marksmen; he quickly took to Scout training and becoming an excellent sniper. While his drive and stubbornness would see him promoted beyond a simple Scout, he would never shy away from taking up the lighter Scout armor if the need was there; all ways relishing a chance to hunt down the foes of Man from his trusty scope. Normally such a exemplar of Invaders spirit would see such a man rise through the ranks, maybe even make a lasting impact upon the Chapter itself; though fate had other ideas. It would be the battles of the Verdox system that would be the loss of the Invaders and the gain of the Deathwatch. For Alberich served in the battle of Verdox II, fighting the treacherous Sunspear of the hated Eldar race, that changed his fate. Despite outnumbering and catching the vile Xenos between the avenging Space Marines and the Horde of the Tyranids of Hive Fleet Leviathan, Sunspear still manged to escape; all the while forcing the Space Marine force into a costly conflict 'nids. Nearly killed twice on Verdox II, once by the Ghost-Warriors of Sunspear and again nearly consumed by a hungry swarm of Hormagaunts. Despite this Alberich would be one of the lucky ones to be able to survive the battle and live to fight again, though to himself he did not feel lucky. Embittered at the lost of so many of his all ready depleted Chapter once again by vile Eldar trickery, Alberich would be one among the many who would honor the Invaders oath and joined Deathwatch. Though this would not be enough for him. No matter how many Xenos died under the sight of his scope, it would never be enough. Bitterness and vengeance had taken too deep of a root inside himself and no matter how many disgusting Xenos he killed he could never slake his need to avenge the wrongs of himself and his Chapter. It would be the Inquisitor Restricted Access that pushed him over the edge. During the Lyest Marches Extermination, that Alberich would break his ties with the Invaders and swore himself to DeathWatch as a Blackshield. Going so far as to abandoned his own name and take up the name Oberyn; a old title from the Invaders homeworld of Ogrys meaning "Hunter of the Fae". Giving up everything for his hate and bitterness Oberyn is now nothing more then a wraith. He lives for nothing but hunting down the alien foes of Mankind now. No mission is to dangerous for him and all risked are excepted. Oberyn hunts now for the day when either all Xenos will perish or when he becomes the hunted. "For every Noble drop spilled by his sons, I will make them bleed tenfold. No Xenos will escape my sight. I Will have justice for their wrongs. The Xenos will pay, they will die so I swear."
Brother Lymaan peered out from behind the ledge he was taking cover behind, only to be met with a hail of bolter fire. He quickly ducked back down. He was only hidden for half a second before he popped up a few feet away, lined up the sights of his rifle and took a shot. He ducked down again just instants before another wave of fire rained down on him. Then he was back up again over there. Again, he had mere milliseconds to find his target before the incoming fire rained down on him. Duck, crawl, jump, shoot. Duck, crawl, jump, shoot. He did the movements with machine like proficiency. Four perfect head shots. In a grassy knoll several hundred yards away, A Raven Guard Chaplain and a much smaller, robed figure watched him with interest through their viewfinders. “Remarkable,” the robed figure said, “He’s hit moving targets at half a kilo ten times in a row, each time in a seven second window, with variable patterns of incoming fire. Not one missed shot. Not one single mistake. Even in an Astartes, that’s impressive. For a new initiate, it’s incredible. So why do you sound so hesitant when I say that this is the one?” The Chaplain sighed. His skull like face plate hid his face from view, but he didn’t sound terribly pleased. “There’s certainly nothing wrong with his skills. He is, as you said, extremely promising for an initiate. His mind is what concerns me. The conversion process from man to marine is a difficult one. Many don’t survive. Brother Lymaan was nearly one that didn’t. The apothecaries were quite ready to write him off and have his body disposed of when he came back from the brink. But he was never the same after that. Brother Lymaan doesn’t speak. He hasn’t said a word since he clawed his way back to life after nearly being killed by his own Astartes enhancements.” “Were his vocal chords damaged?” the robed figure asked, sounding confused. The Chaplain shook his head. “If that was it, I wouldn’t be concerned. Such an injury has little significance to battlefield performance. But there is nothing physically wrong with him. He just won’t speak. And of course, we can't get him to explain his reasoning either. Even when disciplined for it, he takes his punishment without complaint and gives us no new information.” “Aside from this one issue, what other problems does he have?” the robed figure asked, “Does he disobey orders?” The Chaplain shook his head again. “He follows every order to the letter. Aside from orders that require him to speak, of course.” “Is he neglectful of his duties?” “If anything, he goes above and beyond in fulfilling his duties.” “Has he exhibit signs of cowardice or uncontrolled rage under pressure?” “None that any have witnessed. He always seems quite calm and controlled.” “Is he impious in his reverence for the Emperor or the Primarchs?” The Chaplain sighed. With each answer, he knew the conversation was leading in a direction he didn’t want it to go, but he wouldn’t lie. “He makes the motions and lip movements for all the devotions, he just refuses to speak them aloud. He seems pious enough.” “And does he work poorly with his fellow initiates?” The Chaplain shook his head one last time. “He’s not the warmest of battle brothers, but none mind having him around. Mostly he stays out of everyone’s way.” The robed figure nodded decisively. “Then it seems that this… quirk of personality… is completely inconsequential.” “Likely, it’s inconsequential,” the Chaplain admitted, “But I would feel more comfortable…” “You’re a Chaplain,” the robed figure cut him off, “You should know that these decisions aren’t made based on what is ‘comfortable’. Likely, he won’t become an inspiring leader, but that isn’t our plan for him. The Ordo Xenos wants Brother Lymaan. The Deathwatch wants Brother Lymaan. He is our choice. We will not accept a substitute. That is all.” The Chaplain sighed. He was bound by oath to honor their agreement, even if he did have more doubt gnawing at the back of his mind than he was comfortable with. He didn’t have a valid reason, and it was likely nothing, but his instincts about matters like this had served him so well in the past… Out on the training ground, Brother Lymaan continued to move like a well oiled machine, making head shots and dodging incoming fire. The targets were farther away now, and his time had increased, but he still was making an impressive showing. “Very well,” the Chaplain told the robed figure, “I shall inform him as soon as he completes the training exercise.” He made the sign of the aquilla with his hands, which the robed figure returned. “The Emperor protects.”
Terminator Squad- Sergeant Mordecai - Storm bolter, power sword - Dark Angels -CLAIMED
Spoiler:
Sergeant Mordecai is a great leader who has seen many battles in his life, the most devastating of which was his battle with an allied imperial guard tank company, were the remains of a large space marine force where he was the highest ranking soldier. Fending off a whole Ork green tide (assisted by the tank company) he earned a reputation within the chapter as a mass murderer of orks, but during the battle he lost both legs and an arm, and had to be taken back to his chapter planet for emergency treatment. Now he's using bionics, he's stronger than ever.
Brother Athelialtes - Assault cannon, power fist - Crimson Fists -CLAIMED Brother Ry'ken - Storm bolter, power fist - Salamanders -CLAIMED Brother Erik - Storm bolter, power fist - Space Wolves -CLAIMED
Spoiler:
Originally Erik Lightning-helm, for his tribe of notorious raiders. Large and muscular even for a youth of Fenris, especially so in contrast to the lithe but strong mariners of his tribe. On his second raid, still eager to prove himself as an unbled lad, misfortune struck. A sleek fishing boat caught wind of the raiders still far out at sea, fleet enough to escape and rally a defense. Ships met still in deep water, boarding actions took place, and the raiders found themselves outnumbered and fighting desperately. Erik found himself desperate in the thick of action, laying about himself with a solid bone railing. Opponents fell about his feet, crushed skulls, broken arms and faces. Some screaming, some groaning, others silent altogether. A stroke of fortune had young Erik on an enemy ship coming face to face with a grizzled captain, still reeling and exhausted from a duel. Gripping the now broken bone rail to harden his strike, a strong jab to the throat and the captain dropped to the deck. Dragging his body to the helm and holding him up by his hair, Erik felt the tide of battle turn as the morale fled from many of the fighting men. Apparently this had been a man of great rapport. As things looked at their brightest, the deck was suddenly rocked, and a crash of splintering reigned over the battle. Fatigued from battle, dazed and concussed from being thrown, Erik could only look from the deck in horror at the great sea dragon that had split the vessel in twain. Then he was underneath the water, helpless, strengthless. An iron grip shot under the icy brine taking his forearm like a vice and he was effortlessly lifted clear. Above water there was a roar akin to a hurricane, but all his eyes could take in was the fighters across all vessels standing side by side, jaws agape. A metallic voice rang from behind "You have fire lad. I'll give you a chance to become more than you are, in service to something far greater than your tribe." His last conscious image was searing red eyes embedded in a wolfs skull. Terror along with fatigued dragged him into unconsciousness.
Brother Diemos - Storm bolter, chainfist - Iron Hands -CLAIMED
Venerable Brother Markus (Dreadnought) - TL Lascannon, heavy flamer, DCCW - Black Templars -CLAIMED
Spoiler:
"I have been barred from death by Him on the Golden Throne, ordained with a higher purpose. I shall find this purpose in the darkest fields and most savage lands. Until my debts are paid, death shall not touch me." Whenever the deathwatch needs an immovable object or an unstoppable force, they call upon the venerable dreadnought Brother Markus. Venerable Brother Markus fell during the reconquest of Vindobona from the Orks. In the opening stages of the campaign, brother Markus spearheaded the ground forces sent to break open the Ork fortresses. As he fought on the ground, the battle for the heavens raged on. In a paradoxical moment of both victory and tragedy, the Orks flagship was crippled and doomed to fall back to the planet, right onto the fortress brother Markus was assaulting. The fortress was gone, the Orks were turned to ash and the forces Brother Marcus lead into battle were decimated. Amongst the ash and blackened husks, Marcus had survived; though “survived” may be the wrong word. What was left of Brother Markus was interred into a dreadnought chassis. The process internment is a long process and by the time he was fit for battle, Vindobona was conquered. Markus would not have his revenge. The plight of all interred into a dreadnought is to slowly be consumed by nihilism or slip into dementia. Brother Markus survives this mental decay by choosing to believe that he survived for a reason; that it was divine intervention that saved him. Markus believes that somewhere out in the galaxy he will find his purpose. When Brother Markus was awakened and called to join the deathwatch, he saw this as a chance to find his higher purpose. Brother Markus can be found (or heard) in the battlefield shouting threats, verses and poetry at the enemy. Markus is most zealous when their enemy are Orks, making up for lost time on Vindobona. He is an unsubtle tool, happy to take on entire armies by himself if he was allowed.
Land Speeder Storm Pilot Joghaten - Heavy bolter - White Scars -CLAIMED
Spoiler:
Raphael ducked down as bullets sprayed through the broken window, broken chips of stone stinging his face. He looked around the room his scout squad was holed up in. Like him, they were all armed with sniper rifles, firing out of any openings they could find before the enemy spotted them. They were pinned down by the Orks outside who’s numbers were getting larger and louder. The amount of firepower they were pouring into the building was getting heavier and the walls were being eroded away before Raphael’s eyes. Ecthillion was propped up at the back of the room with a few bullets in his stomach. He was again struggling to get up, thinking that, if he ignored the wound hard enough, it would go away. Brother Oberyn was muttering curses at the enemy while Lymaan was silent as usual. Raphael tapped the vox bead in his ear. “Joghaten, if your still there, I would appreciate an extraction”. The vox crackled before a rough voice filled Raphael’s ear, “Where else would I be, dead? Too boring for me.” The plan, as usual, was a good one. They were charged with the destruction of a power plant the Orks had taken for themselves. The plant provided power to the factories surrounding and allowing the Orks to build larger and deadlier war machines. So it had to go. Raphael’s squad were dropped off one of the buildings surrounding the plant. Once an administrative building, it used to be filled with clerks who counted every watt that was pushed out and consumed. Now it was gutted and empty; it made a good sniper’s nest though. While rest of the killteam would bring down the plant, Raphael’s squad would cover their advance and retreat. As usual, the plan had fallen apart. The works were more numerous than were estimated and were very upset that when their plant was blown up. The snipers had successfully covered the killteam’s retreat, but now their own window of escape was closing. “Are you still in that big building I dumped you at?” Joghaten asked. “Yes, why do you think the Orks are shooting it?” Joghaten ignored the remark. “Which floor?” He never likes to explain his plans to others, usually because no one liked his plans. “The fifteenth… why? Raphael didn’t like where this was going. His question was answered with silence. He realised what Joghaten’s plan was. “You won’t fit; we'll meet at the rendezvous.” Raphael struggled to keep the panic put of voice. “Nonsense, I can make room,” was Joghaten’s only reply. “Don’t-“ The far wall on his left exploded, heavy bolt rounds shattering the concrete. Out of the dust, a land speeded squeezed its way onto the floor room. Cheap dividing walls for the office spaces were flattened beneath it. It came to stop in the middle of the room. There were only a few inches a clearance between the ceiling and floor. In the driver’s seat was a pilot in the light armour of the scouts, black with exception of the right shoulder. The shoulder guard was white, with a yellow lightning bolt striking a red bar. Where Raphael had fair hair and fair skin, Joghaten was rough, with dark skin and a black hair. “See, easy. I’m here, let’s go.” Joghaten pretending he had navigated a difficult parking space and not wedged a Storm Land Speeder into an office. Raphael didn’t waste any time arguing, he never won anyways. “Everyone in; Lymaan grab Ecthillion!” Lymaan gave a thumbs up and helped the wounded Imperial fist into the Land speeder. Everyone piled in and Raphael climber in the front seat. “Saving you again I see”. Joghaten goaded Raphael. He said it every time and it always annoyed the scout captain. “And now we're stuck here.” Raphael retorted. “No, it’s easy; I'll make more room again.” “A heavy bolter is not for ‘making room’.” Raphael chastised. Joghaten looked at Raphael with confusion “Then why did they give me one?” He let loose with the heavy bolter, disintegrating the opposite wall. The explosive rounds made quick work of the concrete wall and soon there was a hole large enough to fit the vehicle. The land speeder pushed its way forward, scraping the ceiling as it went. It burst out of the building like a black bat from a cave. Joghaten allowed the speeder to plummet, making a difficult target for the Orks quick enough to realize their prey was escaping. For a brief moment Raphael thought that Joghaten was going to let them all be smashed on the ground below. As the ground rushed up to embrace them all, Joghaten leveled out their dive. He pushed the thrusters and grav plates to their maximum output. The frame of the speeder shuddered with the forces that fought to control it and the grav plates whined with the strain being put upon it. The land speeder’s plummet was halted only few inches from the ground, rocketing forward as it did so. Joghaten dodged and weaved its way through the ruins, leaving the Orks in the distance. Joghaten had saved them once again.

I will say, if you want to stick to something very fluffy.....no dark angel from the 1st or 2nd company would EVER end up in the deathwatch nor would a librarian. As much as I think dark angels should lead always, any member that knows of the fallen will never be allowed out expecially a librarian who is among the inner circle.

I will take Brother Helionn Carlos - Sniper rifle - Raptors
Always been a fan of the raptors because they like to sneak and use camo and tactics instead of running into battle in primary colours which is a big sign saying shoot me.

Just filling you in. This seems to be big on fluff so if you want to change things up that way it better fits what is currently standing. The dark angels dont let any knowlege of the fallen out of their realm of influence
Expcecially near the inquisition

Wales: Where the Men are Men and the sheep are Scared.
This is from the warhammer wiki
The Loyalist Space Marine Legions and subsequent Second Founding Successor Chapters were bound by an ancient oath made to the Emperor to provide troops to the Deathwatch. However, particularly amongst some of the more Radical Space Marine Chapters, this can be a great test of duty, especially for those like the Dark Angels or the Black Templars that see the Inquisition as corrupt and an enemy of the rightful independence and autonomy of the Adeptus Astartes.
DeathwatchStormWarden
A Deathwatch Librarian of the Storm Wardens Chapter
Although there is no question of any Chapter or Space Marine failing to fulfill their ancient pledges, Chapters like the Iron Hands, Dark Angels, Space Wolves and Blood Angels have a notoriously strained relationship with the Inquisition. It is not unheard of for Radical Ordo Xenos Inquisitors to find the secondment of Deathwatch troops to their command facilitated by aiding one of these Space Marines Chapters against the political machinations of a Puritanical Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor.
Implys that Dark Angels will do their duty and be called up for Deathwatch albeit very grudgingly.
Also the following is a list of notable deathwatch Librians.
Librarians
Andreas, Librarian - Andreas was the Deathwatch Astartes who believed that the pulsing, expanding Van Grothe's Rapidity was acting as a beacon for the Tyranid forces that were enroute to Medusa V.
Ashok, Librarian of the Angels Sanguine - Ashok once served with his Chapter in a campaign against the Tyranids on the planet Hegelian IX. At the time, he was deployed with the Angels Sanguine's Death Company into the planet's catacombs in order to pursue the fleeing xenos, where he and his comrades succumbed to the terrible effects of the Black Rage. Before he was able to regain control of himself, he had killed three of his Battle-Brothers. For the next three years, he became strapped to the Tablet of Lestrallio in his Chapter's Fortress-Monastery, where he faced the nightmares caused by the Rage. After he emerged from this state, Ashok was presented with the Shroud of Lemartes as a symbol of his mastery over the Black Rage. Though he had successfully managed to deal with the affects of the Black Rage he continued to combat the signs. Ashok was later seconded to the Deathwatch, where he served under the command of Captain Quirion Octavius. Librarian Ashok later deployed with his Kill-team, under the command of Inquisitor Kalpysia, to deal with a splinter Tyranid Hive Fleet on the planet Herodian IV. He is the only known Librarian to have taken on three Tyranid Zoanthropes and survived.
Atreus, Librarian of the Blood Ravens
Brytnoth, Librarian
Lyandro Karras, Codicier of the Death Spectres - Karras served as a field leader for Kill-team Talon. His call-sign was Talon Alpha, but amongst his fellow Deatwatch members he was referred to as "Scholar."
Shaidan, Librarian of the Mantis Warriors - Shaidan was a "Penitent," one of the Mantis Warriors who was still serving the century-long penance for their shameful actions in the Badab War. Shaidan and some of his Battle-Brothers served alongside the Deathwatch unofficially in the defence of Herodian IV against a splinter fleet of Tyranids. Shaidan heroically sacrificed himself and was posthumously inducted into the ranks of the Deathwatch.
Zadkiel, Epistolary of the Dark Angels - Epistolary Zadkiel is a powerful and honoured Librarian of the Dark Angels Chapter who trained under Ezekiel, the Dark Angels' Grand Master of Librarians, and was seconded to the Deathwatch and rose as a prominent leader in the Acheros Salient of the Jericho Reach. His potent psychic abilities have banished daemons without number, shrieking back into the Warp, and his Force Staff has reaped a bloody tally against the Heretic hordes of the Cellebos Warzone.

Can I be my own character, Brother Conrad? He has a Lightning Claw and Combi-weapon flamer. Dark Angels chapter. He's actually my warlord (as Captain Conrad) for my 5000 point dark angels force.

I'm sorry, but I'm using this as an in-game kill team, so it's not really do-able right now. If you still want to be part of the kill team, there are plenty of other marines to be taken.

I chose Brother Diemos cos taking a cyborg super-soldier and putting him in a suit of near-indestructible armor and making him a member of the ultimate xenocidal war host is awesome.
Out of curiosity, what would be the degree of cybernetics with Diemos? Does he have a couple of mechanical limbs or is he more machine then man?

Not made yet, so that's all up to you! I was planning on assembling him normally assuming his bionics would be obscured by the TDA but, hey, I'm not fussed!

I've currently completed the Sternguard Squad, Watch Captain, Dreadnought, Land Speeder Storm and Scout Squad. So I only need the Termies, Stormraven and Libby. I will be getting that stuff very soon however.

I have something finished for Venerable Brother Markus. Because he is from the Black Templar I went for loud, bombastic and a little bit religious.
I have been barred from death by Him on the Golden Throne, ordained with a higher purpose. I shall find this purpose in the darkest fields and most savage lands. Until my debts are paid, death shall not touch me.
Whenever the deathwatch needs an immovable object or an unstoppable force, they call upon the venerable dreadnought Brother Markus.
I hope you guys like it, tell me what should be changed or added. I like discussing character building.

This looks great, you've really captured a vivid picture of Markus for me! No critisism here, except what forces was Markus leading on Vindobona, and what rank was he before internment?

I was thinking maybe a castellan. A high enough rank to be worthy of internment, but not necessarily at the top of the hierarchy.
As for forces, I'm not sure. 50 marines imbedded in an imperial guard unit sound like a decent siege force.

Terribly sorry I missed this, he's already been claimed, but if you desperately want Sidonus over any of the other Deathwatch Marines, I'll let you add more fluff to him! Again though, he HAS already been claimed, just look at the OP.

Yeah, I think that's fair enough! I was just wondering, why would an Initiate be leading a huge attack force, but your version sounds good.
