So I had my first RIF OP today and it went better than I expected. My group stuck to our gentleman's agreement and there was no borg to be seen. I decided to alter my Kirk dreadnought list.

22 USS Enterprise
10 Federation Flagship
03 Admiral Forrest
06 James T. Kirk
03 Picard Maneuver
03 Cheat Death
03 Cheat Death
05 Riker
05 Scotty
02 Janice Rand
03 Uhura (refit)
04 Cyrano Jones
03 Sakonna*
02 Tactical Stations * (4-2=2)
03 Dorsal Phaser Array * (5-2=3)
11 Energy Dissapator
88 Total

My blind ship was the Pakeash

26 Pakeash
02 Tasha Yar
02 Dorsal Weapons Array
30 Total

Round 1 was against a 90 pt Enterprise E & Kazon Predator. Turn 1 he edged up with the Kazon and and the E doing 2 straights. I hit the gas on the Pakeash doing a 5. Kirk moved up 4 Riker activated Scotty, Picard Maneuver w/Rand, Flagship free BS, Enterprise TL the E. I discarded tactical stations and was up to 9 attacks. I stripped the E of its shields and also gave it a Warp Core Breach. His Picard/E hit Kirk hard, and I had to use a Cheat Death. The Pakeash took some shields off the Kazon. The Kazon managed take out all of the Pakeash's shields. Turn 2 my opponent forgot to use Dianna Troi and I finished off the E. He took out my Pakeash with the Kazon, but Tasha Yar landed 3 damage on him. Round 3 Kirk finishes off the Kazon. Win for Kirk.

Round 2 another 90 E and a Vulcan blind w/Solok. Turn 1 Solok moves up 4, my Pakeash moves up 5. His E does a 3 bank. Kirk does his thing again, 4 up, Riker for Scotty, Rand for Picard Maneuver, flagship BS, Enterprise TL. I ditch the tactical stations for +2 attacks. I have the E at range 1, so w/tribbles and tactical stations I hit him with a 6 die Energy Dissapator. 3 hits go through and his shields are down. I use my primary for a follow up 3+1 (flagship)+2 (Scotty)+1 (tribbles)+2 (tac station)+1 (range 1)=10. It lands 6 hits and 3 crits, the E went down turn 1 . Solok is -4 to shoot at Kirk and out of range on the Pakeash. Turn 2 the Pakeash and Enterprise move in on Solok. The Vulkan heads for the hills. Between my 2 ships the Vulcan has 3 hull left and is running. Turn 3 Kirk finishes off Solok.

Round 3 I had a bye.

When the dust settled Kirk was the winner over the Picards . It was nice to have maneuvering be part of the game again. Even though everyone had Dorsal Phasers they are only range 1-2 and don't give the close range bonus so movement was important. It was a good time and the 2 guys I played were good players and nice guys. It was a fun time for everyone.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Kirk's valiant efforts brought me home this take that Picard.

Mostly, on my phone.

Well played sir, well played. What other fleets were on show?

We usually have 6-8 players unfortunately this time around only 3 of us showed up, that's why I had the bye in round 3. The rest of the guys must have been too hung over

The 1st guy I played is new to our group but fits in great with our meta. He actually came close to beating me during the Collective OP 3. I can't remember his whole build but it was something like:

Enterprise E
Fed flagship
Picard (9)
Picard Maneuver
Dianna Troi
Paris
Torres
Phaser Array
Quantums
Secondary Torpedoes
Spock

Names Kazon Ship
Generic Captain
Tractor beam
Kazon Weapon??

The second game was against a seasoned regular, but I don't think he expected Picard Maneuver w/Energy Dissapator He had something like:

Enterprise E
Flagship
Picard (8)
Once More Unto the breach
Geordi (from the E)
Remeta Klan (from battle cruiser)
Spock
High Energy Sensor Sweap
Tactical Stations
Phaser Array
Stuff??

Named Vulcan Ship
Solok

It was a small turn out but it was so nice to win one without Picard, Borg, or Klingons. It was also fun to use tribbles

With tribbles you get a token at the end phase, this is after the combat phase.

With the FAQ abilities that give you + attack dice can only be used on one attack. So Scotty and tac stations give you +4 to divide however you want between Primary and Energy Dissapator.. You shot 6 Energy Dissapator + 10 Primary = 16 Total, when really you had 3 Energy Dissapator + 5 Primary +4 to pick where ever, so you throw 4 extra dice.

Granted still taking 9 Shots without shields and having a target lock is bad. but having 2 evade and 6 hull w/flagship, might not have changed anything but it might have.

I don’t think you understand what you are talking about. Please read the FAQ again. I think you are referring to :
“9. When a card ability allows a player to gain a certain number of attack or defense dice "this round" (for example, Scotty), how does this work?

For attack dice, this allows the player to add that many attack dice (in total) to his attack rolls during that round's Combat Phase. If a player is able to make multiple attacks during the same Combat Phase, the player may choose when to add the bonus attack dice. These dice can even be added to Secondary Weapon attacks.

For defense dice, this allows the player to add that many defense dice (in total) to his defense rolls during that round's Combat Phase. If the player is attacked multiple times during the same Combat Phase, the player can choose when to add the bonus defense dice.

Note that this type of text is different from a continuous bonus which does not use the phrase "this round" (for example, the text on Donatra or Terrell). A continuous bonus applies to all attack and defense rolls made by the affected ships during that round.

You are missing the last paragraph. Tribbles and Tactical Stations give a “continuous bonus” so they apply to every attack you make just like Donatra.

The Tribble reference card even states:
“2) If your ship has 1-3 Tribble Tokens, add +1 attack die WHENEVER you attack, and +1 WHENEVER you defend.”

Tactical Stations states:
“When attacking, you may discard this card to gain +2 attack dice until the End Phase”

Unlike Scotty the phrase “this round” is NOT in the text of Tribbles or Tac Station so they are continous bonuses that apply to every attack you make. If I had used something like Once More Unto the Breach or Counter Attack, the bonus from these would apply each attack. Where Scotty is just 2 dice for the round that you can choose when to apply.

I know that a lot of people get confused by this but please check your facts before you call someone out .

I forgot that part, thank you for verifying that.

As for Tribbles, I only read the Tribbles reference card, not Cyrano Jones card, so I did not see you starting with a token all ready.

I must go find a tactical station card now.

Tribbles really are amazing for there points. The were good before, but in unrestricted mixed faction metas they are outstanding. Their only limitation is that after 4 turns they get risky, but with the crazy super dreadnought a lot of the time the game is close to over in 4 turns, or in you can pass them off to your blind ship which usually has lost its shields by then.

Tactical Station is nice and breaths new life into some of the other federation ships. I may see what I can do with the Defiant I am actually happy that WK made it unique, keeps the craziness factor down. Soon you should see some show up on ebay, I know before the ruling there was a guy who sold 12 Stargazers without them. So he should be unloading them soon.

Its probably this guy http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Trek-Attack-Wing-Tactical-Station-Card-/321554952133?pt=Games_US&hash=item4ade2b2fc5

But for $20 a piece I think I will pass. I like the game just not spending that much on cardboard. I all ready have a plastic addiction that cost enough. Need to avoid cardboard crack.

WOW that is crazy. $20 its not that good of a card. $5 maybe but not $20. The scary thing is it says that 4 have been sold already. It just isn't worth that much.
