So Asurmen has a 2+ armour save. When he has the warlord trait Fate's Messenger he "re-rolls saving throw resultS of 1"
I take that to mean that unless he is wounded by an ap2 attack he can never fail an armour save. My good friend here insists that if I roll 2 ones in a row the wound goes through.
The wording is 'results'. Plural. No limit stated.

What about the rule that says you can never reroll a reroll?
There is no such thing as an auto-pass save in this game.

Okay...same buddy wants to cast a nova power in close combat against the guy he's in a challenge with. Can witch fires be cast in close combat? Automatically Appended Next Post: Okay. I can accept that. Poor wording on that warlord trait then.

They can cast a nova into a close combat, but not while the psyker who is trying to cast is in close combat.

Yeah, thanks. Seemed so obvious to me. Only blessings and maledictions can be cast by psykers engaged in close combat.

Asurmen in a Battleforged army... does he get to re-roll when generating D3 warlord traits?

For each of the D3 traits yes, not the D3 itself. Automatically Appended Next Post: Kaela_Mensha_Khaine wrote:They can cast a nova into a close combat, but not while the psyker who is trying to cast is in close combat.
Close Combat does not prevent you from casting spells afaik.

Close combat does prevent you from casting witchfire spells which a nova is a subtype of. If the psyker is in cc and wanted to cast force, endurance, or misfortune they are allowed but trying to cast Psychic Shriek is illegal.

Could you please provide a quote for that ? I read those rules yesterday before replying.

Pg 27 under Witchfire, 1st paragraph 3rd sentence "Just like when shooting a weapon, a Psyker must be able to see the target unit (or target point) and cannot be locked in combat if he wishes to manifest a witchfire power."

Yup. I definitely see it now. I'm glad I never cast a witchfire in close combat now
