Hey all,

Been crazy sick and haven't gotten out to get my latest white dwarf mags yet, so curious about this. What size are the new blightkings? Are they normal chaos warrior sized or are they bigger/closer to ogre sized? Can't really tell on the GW website as the unit listing doesn't have any pics of them compared to any other minis.

Hoping for an option that will let me make some more plague ogryns for my 40k chaos forces to go with the 3 I have from forge world.

Thanks!

No, they're a tad smaller.

I find it weird that they are given the bases of monstrous infantry and a model that is 99% the size but they are calling them a regular infantry model.

Seeing as multi wound infantry is the whole point of monstrous infantry it does seem odd. But if they were, forget trolls they would be nothing compared to these.

Trolls>Blightkings.

You can't get Blightkings in core.

Trolls are still fantastic for what they are but get them alone without a general and they fail stupidity tests up the yin yang. Meanwhile these guys have way better WS, initiative, and so on. Take them with a freaking eternal flame banner if possible and trolls won't touch em (though admittedly it's probably best to take flame banner on cavalry units). Trolls can't take a banner. Then again there are plenty of banners you can take.

I still say wait and see. Maybe these guys will prove useful.

a little smaller in size than an ogre, but on the same base, but they are classified as regular infantry which I found to be a bit strange. I thought they would be monstrous.

Firstly, Trolls Discount 50% of all wounds you deal to them unless you're flaming or have HKB. These guys can get their saves picked off.

Secondly, Trolls can stop a cannonball in it's tracks. These guys don't.

Thirdly. Trolls are immune to stomp and thunderstomp.

FInally. Trolls can be made core.
