As the title says, is there any good places for short stories or tidbits of fluff involving the 3rd Company of the Ultramarines? I don't expect there to be any full blown novels about them but anything beyond what little is available in C:SM would be great. Thanks!

Things I already know about

- Captain Fabian, he's well, uh, the current captain. That's about it.
- Captain Ardias, I think this guy preceded Fabian and according to the Lexicanum, was killed by the Tau during the Damocles Crusade
- Nicknamed " Scourge of the Xenos " and according to their company banner, they're not big fans of Tyranids

Honestly this is all I could really dig up, more info would be much appreciated.

As far as I know there isn't any. Unless you care about 2nd or 4th Company then you'll have to come up with your own fluff.

The 3rd and 7th companies re-took the polar fortresses during the battle of Macragge. The 7th had few problems in the south, but the 3rd ended up dropping into a mess up north. They were the ones who purged the tyranids out of the fortress and discovering the fate of the 1st company.

The bulk of the 3rd was on the Joran VI retaliation force (according to the UM TOE in the back of the 3rd ed codex)

Thanks for the posts guys, that's too bad there isn't much to go on. On one hand I guess that's a good thing because it offers more creative freedom, but on the other hand I was hoping that I could get some inspirational stories to influence the design of my models with. Oh well.

Fabian also has joint honour for the first recorded CC kill of a Hive Tyrant. It was written somewhere too that be wields the Sword of Damocles, but I can't remember where, possibly an old White Dwarf detailing how he was promoted to Captain as he left Damocles, Ardias dead.
We also have contradictory evidence that states Ardias is still Captain of the 3rd.

Also, Invictus, previous 1st Captain, was Captain of the 3rd company before he was promoted.

It’s also a well established fact that those who play Ultramarine 3rd company armies are smarter, wittier, and better looking then those who’s forces are primarily drawn from the other companies.

That is indeed a proven fact.

I can also attest to that fact.

Captain Ardias is the main Imperial Protagonist of the book Fire Warrior, based off the PS2 game and a decent portion of it is written from Ardias's third person narrative.

I really have no idea if the book can still be found since my own copy is literally held together by duct tape due to age...
