Subject: Lord Commissar Graxius
|
 |
Guard Heavy Weapon Crewman
|
Just starting off a new IG army, already have Homebrew characters: 40k Problems Lord Commissar Graxius-170pts Stats: WS5 BS5 S3 T3 W3 I4 A3 Ld10 Sv 4+/5++ The Kraken's Fang: Wrought from the hardest of Adamantium and sheathed in a powerful field of lightning, the Kraken's Fang is the personal weapon of Commissar Graxius. Renowned for slaying the Hive Tyrant that led the splinter of Hive Fleet Kraken that invaded Thraxin Prime, the Kraken's Fang has been soaked in the venom of numerous Tyranid Venomthropes. It has a profile of Ap3, and Poisoned (2+). In addition, your opponent must reroll successful amour saves.. The Martian Inferno: A gift to Graxius after he defended a large vault of technological relics from invading Dark Eldar, the Inferno is thrice blessed by the Tech-Priests who crafted it. In addition, it has been tailored to burn the very souls of those who are struck by its bolts. Range 12" S4 Ap4 Soul Blaze Flexible Tactics: After deployment, but before game-play, Commissar Graxius and his detachment gain Preferred Enemy against the opponent's race. If facing off against multiple races, then roll a D6 to determine which race the detachment gains Preferred Enemy against. (This rule cannot be used against Tau). Aura of Discipline: All units within a 12” radius of Graxius may use his leadership for any morale tests they may take. USR: Stubborn, Eternal Warrior, And They Shall Know No Fear, Hatred (Tyranids) Graxian Retinue- 180pts If Graxius chooses he may take his veteran retinue with him. This retinue will replace one of your current platoon command squads. Major Alan Motley Serving with Graxius for over 30 standard Terran years, he is second longest serving member in the Graxian retinue. His skill as an officer was unparalleled, and his regiment, the Cadian 59th, had a long list of victories with impressively low casualty rates compared to some of the other regiments in the Imperial Guard. However, when he and Graxius first met during their campaign against Hive Fleet Kraken on Thraxin Prime, his regiment was completely devastated by a Mycetic Spore landing in the middle of their base camp, spewing genestealers into the unprepared guardsmen. Were it not for the then Lord Commissar Graxius leading a detachment of his own company to their aid, Alan would have died then, fighting a futile battle alongside his men. Only himself and one his sergeants escaped alive with Graxius and he swore to avenge his regiment. He now travels the galaxy with the Grand Commissar, fighting both heretics and foul xenos. Stats: WS4 BS4 S3 T3 W3 I3 A3 LD9 4+/5++ Bolt pistol An Officers Lamentation: This supposedly ornamental rod of office for the Major actually contains a power field, capable of annihilating armor and flesh. Given to him for his sterling performance alongside the Grand Commissar, it has proved to be the bane of Chaos, as the rod’s underwhelming appearance has lead many a traitor marine to his doom. Strength +1 Ap3 Senior officer: May issue up to two orders per turn and Motley may issue First Rank Fire! Second Rank Fire! / Incoming! / Bring it down! And Get Back in the Fight! Hatred- (Tyranids) Sergeant Samson Willow The only other man to escape the disaster on Thraxin Prime, although he was offered a place in the retinue he declined it at first, as he had not fully tested the strength of his new bionic arm, which he thought could be a liability in a battle situation until the ‘cogboys’ had had a good look at it. The man is a machine and has grinded through some of the toughest wars with barely a scratch. It wasn’t until the Tyranid invasion of Thraxin Prime that he lost his arm, but he has embraced it, calling it a gift from The Emperor with which to smite his enemies more effectively. Stats: WS4 BS4 S4 T3 W1 I3 A3 Ld8 Sv4+ Standard of Terra: Gives all units from Codex: Imperial Guard +1 Ld and Attacks within 6 inches of Samson. Samson and his squad do not get this bonus Power sword Bionic arm: Gives Samson 1 Smash attack that must be resolved at initiative 1. Medicae Solumnus Valona The longest serving and oldest compatriot of Graxius’, Solumnus has seen some truly terrifying things and held his ground none the less, firing his trusty laspistol and hacking off the limbs of both friend and foe, to kill and to save. He was there when Graxius battled the mighty Tyranid hive tyrant on Thraxin Prime. Quiet and reserved, even in battle, his voice guides the newer members of the squad and even has the Lord Commissars ear. Stats: WS3 BS4 S3 T3 W1 I3 A2 Ld7 Sv 4+ Hot-shot laspistol Medi-pack You won’t miss this…: If any model dies in Solumnus’ unit, roll a D6, on a 6 the model comes back to life but -1 strength. If the model’s strength reaches zero then the model cannot be revived. Bombardier Pilon Revel Stats: WS2 BS5 S3 T3 W1 I3 A1 Ld7 Sv 4+ Lasgun Artillery Bombardment Insanity: Well renowned for being one of Graxius’ more unstable compatriots, Pilon is still capable of raining down precision artillery fire so a direct hit when rolling the scatter dice for his artillery bombardment confers no scatter. However sometimes the strain is too much and he snaps. Every time he makes an artillery attack take a leadership test, if it is failed his unit suffers D6 attacks at S3 Ap-. If a Commissar of either rank is part of the squad when this occurs (apart from Graxius) then he is summarily executed. Guardsman Connor Falum Stats: WS3 BS4 S3 T3 W1 I3 A2 Ld7 Sv 4+
Meltagun New Faith: The most recent member of the Graxian Retinue, his eternal devotion to The Emperor has yet to be truly tested. This does not stop him from being a powerful orator, and his sanctioned pre-battle speeches have been known to rival that of the ecclesiarches. Roll a D3, to determine how many turns your entire army gains the USR Zealot. Commissar Tensk Stats: WS4 BS4 S3 T3 W1 I3 A2 Ld9 Sv 4+
Plasma pistol Power sword Graxian Protégé: having been trained by Graxius for many years in many bloody battles, the lowly Commissar is his brightest pupil. Should Graxius fall in battle, Tensk has been instructed by his mentor to take up his mantle. If Graxius is killed then replace Tensks’ stat line above with the one below and give him Aura of Discipline Stats: WS5 BS5 S3 T3 W3 I3 A3 Ld10 Sv 4+/5++

I stopped at "...It has a profile of S4 Ap4, and Soulfire..."
Face it man, if you're too lazy to even finish your own rules then maybe this kind of thing isn't for you?

I don't know why you post this stuff here when you keep ignoring everyone who tries to help. You'd be better off leaving these in your school notebook or w/e.

Poison 2+ AP3 are you having a laugh? And please don't tell me that the Inferno is also a pistol?
Then he has Eternal Warrior.
You've made a God Mode character for very little points, I think you need to go back to the drawing board completely with him.

Hardly, with only intiative 4 he's not going to hold up in any serious duels, that and any decent dueller will ignore his armor completely. W3 and 5++ will only protect you for so long, nerfing it to Ap4 would make no sense since its a power sword but a price increase perhaps? Yarrick is only five points more expensive and he's far more nasty.

Well all I got to say is mm ok. Sure. Does he have a Cape? If not he needs one. Eternal warrior on a sub 200 piont character alone is pretty beastly. The squad is completely over the top. Add up the piont value of all the weapons. And the saves man. All the buffs your looking at 500 points if not more(closer to 750) of gear and special sauce. It way over the top my man. Nice try but your putting way over pionts worth of fluff. Like I said the eternal warrior on the hq alone is like wow for 160. And his squad is 4 tact squads full of gear and all the buffs would make any honor guard cry tears. They got terminator invuls and better armor then any thing other then space marines. For 160 points.

Some Must Be Told. Others Must Be Shown.
Blood Angels- 15000
Dark Angels-7800
Sisters of Battle- 5000
Space Wolves- 5000 |

First things first, I'll admit that having eternal warrior on anything sub 200 points is pretty good, but for god sake he's toughness 3! Also Yarrick is 165 with eternal warrior. Only Graxius and Motley have the 5++ and 4+ armour isn't going to stop much when it comes to anti-infantry. Heavy bolters come to mind. And the feel no pain from the medikit isn't real going to benefit the others because of ID on S6. Automatically Appended Next Post: raverrn wrote:

When have I ever ignored anyone, I have always taken any input into consideration and then fixed any mistakes. I live in a very isolated place and the entire purpose of posting crunch ideas on this website is for feedback which I would not otherwise be able to receive due to the lack of 40k players around.

Ok how about this increase Graxius' points by ten then he can choose one platoon command squad to have Hatred (Tyranids) replacing the current retinue.
