Chaos Space Marine Codex, page 30, halfway down the page, 1st non-italic paragraph in the "Marks of Chaos" box, 2nd line. It reads "An Independent Character with a Mark of Chaos may not join a unit with a different Mark of Chaos."

Yeah, there's a lot to learn.

If the CL had no mark, he could join that unit. The rules don't allow an independent character to join a unit with a different mark, but there's nothing preventing an IC with no mark from joining up with anyone they want.

Nurgle CLs on bikes with the sigil of corruption and the black mace are very, very tough.

Go with spawn with MoK instead of bikes. More durable plus the juggerlord still gets into combat just as quick.

For the love of god, don't give spawn MoK. All it does is give them counterattack. Juggerlord with blind-axe in unmarked spawn unit is the standard killstar. Bikes are also good, but spawn suck up a lot more hits (The lord is the one that actually does the killing)

And tbf -10pts for counterattack in a squad you want charging is not a bad investment.

So is paying for a lap dance at a strip joint.

Just because its a bad investment, doesn't mean you won't get any use (or fun) out of it.....

+5 more spawn attacks, +1 more juggerlord attack for 10pts. If you are going against an army that may assault you with assault units, the cost of 2 flamers (in other words a mere 2d3 flame hits on overwatch), is not bad for all those extra attacks. Those attacks are going to kill more than 10pts worth of opponents models. Yes its not going to be needed against tau, guard or eldar and crons (most of the time), sometimes depending on the army DE or C:SM either. But if you are facing BA, SW, Deamons, fellow CSM, Orks, Nids - you know there will be other assault units that want to get the charge on you.
Don't just dismiss something because you can't immediately see a use. Believe me - its there. For assault armies counter attack is a beautiful usr. Ask SW players/opponents. I often include an inquisitor with liber heresius for just scout and counter attack in my BA armies.
