A barren wasteland table my Dad and I built together:

These pictures were taken before we added some small patches of grass, and we also haven't finished the bridge yet. I've also built a few pieces of modular terrain to go along with it, rocks, wrecked vehicles, etc. but I haven't gotten around to painting them yet either.

Here are some sample photos of my table, it's a Zuzzy mat with lots of terrain to go with it (much of it custom made). I have different end cap sections that can change it up quite a bit.

Seeing all these awesome tables has inspired me to paint my citadel realm of battle board up. After some discussion within my gaming group, I've decided to go with a more desert looking table. I like the way a barren wasteland looks and I'm thinking of doing that.

Currently I have the following:
Brushes
Play Sand
Table
Elmers' glue bottle
Can of desert-like brown
Sealer
2 Chaos black primers
container of crackle paste

The problem I have is I'm not quite sure as to the best way to paint this. Normally, I glue the sand on my base, prime, and paint (base, wash, dry) and seal it up. However, on this mass scale I want to avoid any redundancies so I'm not quire sure on how to start.
I'm thinking of applying 3 to 1 glue/water all over. Put sand. Prime black, paint then seal. Or do I apply seal on the citadel board, apply crackle paste, glue, base, colour and then seal?

Any ideas would be welcomed.
