So, with the recent news that my LGS is now running with the stupid comp rules from WK, It's clear this game isn't for me anymore...

I was wondering if there was any interest in someone looking to acquire my collection?

Note, I have all OP event resources.

Here's a makeshift list of what I have. If I have doubles of anything, I sold the extra unique upgrades already, so they'll only come with 1 of each unique ship unless specified.

Feds

TOS enterprise (original cards, replaced the model with the Fleet Captains Refit)
Refit Enterprise ( missing dial and base card, if I ever get these from WK i'll send them to you.)
Enterprise D x2 (I only have two of each ship card, I sold the extras already)
NX Enterprise
Voyager
Stargazer
Enterprise E
Sutherland
Raven (I cut the tab to fit the base, it looks a lil choppy.)
Yeager
Federation Attack Fighters
Reliant
Excelsior x2
Equinox x2
Defiant x2

Klingons
IKS Chtang
IKS Negh Var
IKS Maht'ha x2
Koraga x2
Gr'oth x2
Kronos One
B'moth x2
Som'Raw x2

Romulans

Khazara x2
Valdore
Apnex
ENT Bird of Prey

Dominion

3rd wing attack ship
Koranak
Dominion Hideki Fighters

Borg
Borg Tactical Cube
Borg Sphere x2
Borg Diamond
Borg Scout Cube (retail)
Borg Soong x2

Bajorans

Akorem

Independents

S'Gorn
Tholia One

Also have the DS9 tokens from the Dominion War op with cards.

I might have more, but right now I'm trying to gauge interest in the lot. and obtaining offers as well. Let me know if you're interested. Or if you wanna try to talk me out of selling.

I must admit that I have been feeling quite disenchanted with the game as well. However, that's most likely because I've been reading too much stuff on the Internet and not concentrating on the most important point; having fun while playing.

Do you have a group of people who you can regularly game with or are you primarily an OP player? If you have a group of people to play with, I'd suggest holding on to the game for a bit longer and see if you still enjoy playing the game.

I'm an OP player. Now that my LGS has switched over to the dumb comp system, I can't build anything I like, specifically, a Dreadnought Build, and especially since I can't even put Borg Ablative Hull armor on a borg sphere, I can't equip a ship with a card it came with out of the pack in a tournament... think about that for a second.

Nope, you can't, ships below the 43 point limit can't cost more than 50 points, BAHA is 10 points. that's 53 points.

Dude go look at the cards. The Sphere costs 38 points, the names is 40. There is even a 2 point borg captain.

BAHA is 10 points. Borg Spheres are 38 & 40. You do the math

Even still, having to pick only ONE upgrade and a captain sucks ass...

Seriously, it's like WK didn't even play test this at all with the Borg stuff..

No they just saw the results coming out of regionals and realized that something needed to be done.

Yeah, and the fix was stupidly put into an OP Grand Prize instead of being made WIDELY available in a retail release.

Look at the Grand Prize for RIF, Data is the perfect fix for Weyoun/Varel. Spend an action, disable a captain! Weyoun/Varel disspates!

Data is not the fix you think he is. Borg Shield Matrix stops him. Li Nalis and Romulan Centurion can also be used instead of disabling Weyoun. Throw in Plox and you can use Li Nalis 2 turns in a row. So NOOOOO Data is not the answer. The new rules are a much better solution.

That is pretty much what everyone thinks about the Borg releases ironically......

Well gee, how about instituting Faction pure play?

Pretty sure that would stop everyone from mixing Dominion, Bajoran, and Romulan upgrades...

Even in faction pure it is very difficult for most factions to take down a cube w/double armour flagship, queens, 7 of 9, feedback pulse. Even if you take down the shields you have 14 hit points to get through. Romulans, Vulcans, Ferengi, Bajorans, and Kazon all lack the fire power to take it down. Feds, klingons and dominion have the fire power but are low on defense so the 7-8 attack cube/sphere/dimond will one shot things very easily. Plus one the borg missiles start flying the feds are screwed because all their stuff depnds on actions. Faction pure is not the answer to the borg.

At the place I play faction pure everyone usually comes to get away from borg. We had a guy come with a loaded cube and he was wrecking face for the first and second round. He forgot the discount formthe hull armour and had:
46 named cube
10 flagship
05 queen
10 hull armour
10 hull armour
04 7 of 9
06 borg missiles
08 feedback pulse

He was fairly new but trounced 2 of our seasoned players. One with a Voyager dreadnought and one with a Voyager/Enterprise D combo. I barely beat him in the 3rd round, but only because he made some mistakes. I had my Klingon wolf pack of 4 B'Rels, he forgot to use feedback pulse and used borg missiles instead of regular attack. Aux tokens don't mean much to a generic B'Rel, and one turn he got a stunned helmsman. Of the 2 ships I had left one was down to 1 hull and the other had a core breach. I got lucky, thats all. One more turn of shooting and he probably would have had me. Borg are still top dogs in unrestricted points faction pure.

The new OP rules are a much better solution to everything. With unrestricted points, even in faction pure, the list of viable factions is limited to Borg, feds, dominion, and Klingons if the other guy makes a mistake. 3-4 is not very much. The new rules open up all of the factions to viable builds. Bajoran swars with phaser strike are going to be very interesting, as will an all Breen fleet. These lists and many others now have a chance and could even become competitive.

The Borg are the 'Easy Button' in STAW. So easy in fact, that a complete noobie that has never played the game before can take a Cube Dreadnaught build and win vs. any other player that is not playing Borg. Against another Borg player, it's all up to the dice.

If they're such an easy button, then how come a seasoned player who plays more OP events than I brought a Tac Cube stacked to an OP event, and I just trounced him with ease with my PSF build?

"If cigarettes kill people then how come my granny smoked 40 a day but lived to age 90?"

We had another tournament today in Dublin, won, yet again, by the Borg. I won our last OP using Borg on my first attempt with them

Aint nothing blind about it, It's skill. If you got the skills, you can overcome any build.

And I thought you were still sitting in the sandbox crying about how broken the Borg are when My Klingon Fleet beat the crap out of them.

I'm Mad because I spent $115 on Borg ships to play them in OP events, now I can't.

Even Madder because WK STILL Hasn't gotten my replacement tabs and dial for my Enterprise Refit too...

Even MORE ANGRY because WK REFUSES to speak with me!

Is there anything you'd be looking for in part for trade?

I'm interested in running the game with a gaming group of at-risk youth that I do monthly, and it could be a great way for us to get into it.
