No explanation needed. No explanation given.
(at the very least, tell your opponent you intend to play with douchebaggery, so they can at least come up with an army list that can do something, or more probably, just decline the game invitation)

Well yes, it's a bad joke, but mainly as in 'IA books are just of so much higher quality'.
They appear to be somewhat equal in gameplay power, with both containing various poor, moderate and overpowered units.

Yeah I agree, when you try and play say a Tyrants List vs Eldar that Eldar player should tone down his Wave Serpent Spam.
Some of those 40K books are just so overpowered at times y'know?

Yeah right...jump the shark. At least some kind of parity out of a random game is expected. Banned. Next.

Well, it is butthurt
Yeah, they are different games.
IA vs. IA, 40k vs 40k. Decision made. Even my opponent agreed...in fact, he mentioned it first.

..?
They are the same game, they are units for use in Warhammer 40k.
Though more importantly, what was even the point of this post.

The point of this post is to warn people that they should let their friends know that if they intend to play a game supplemented by an IA book, they should decline the game unless they also have an IA army.
Different games, same ruleset.
Long range D weapons...come on. Its a joke. There's no reason to play.

WATCH as you're magically.... wrong.
Refusing to play against Forge World is pure cowardice. I don't know what's in a Dark Eldar codex. That doesn't mean I'll refuse to play them.

The problem is, I now do know what is in IA books
And I did play against it.
The rules just aren't compatible, at least if parity is a part of compatibility. Even my opponent with the IA army agreed. Deal.

I'm sure you also think Imperial Knights, Eldar, and Tau are not part of 40k. The rules just aren't compatible after all. At least if parity is a part of compatibility.

Yeah, the butthurt here is laughable, I find IA units to be better balanced than anything coming out of GWs design studio. Also, dunno what you mean by 'different games', they are actually the same game, same ruleset. Unless you're referring to the Horus Heresy stuff, in which case, yeah, different game, same ruleset, though its not terribly unbalanced.

I stomp ELdar and Tau regularly, and with random opponents.
I agree with you that Imperial Knights don't belong in 40k. And I'll add that IA books don't belong either, at least not unless both players are playing with another IA army.
Same ruleset, different games.

~Sincerely, Still Still Butthurt What on earth are you babbling about? Can you even describe what occurred?
Did someone try and run a Titan in a game?
Sure, of course *that* will be absurd, but also keep in mind, the current rules for most of those were GW incepted, not from FW, to say nothing of the fact that it was GW's studio that enabled such things to be used outside of big Apocalypse games.
Your butthurt is nothing but puzzling to most of us, and trying to make it out like FW IA books aren't part of " 40k" is absurd.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.
New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

Long range D strenght wepaons have no place except against other long range D strength weapons. That's what I mean by 'different game, same ruleset'.

Dead on the mark. I joined this site a couple years ago. That limited amount of time, I've audited thread after thread fighting about Forge World. The most logical conclusion is that Forge world actuall has more overpriced units and underpowered ones than the regular 40k side. Turns out, the units that are drastically overpowered can be counted on one hand by a lifetime bomb maker.
