I just want the golems in something besides metal.

Not a fan of all the extra work that a big heavy model needs when it's made in metal. Still sitting on a pile of EXTREME khador jacks since I don't have the heart to sit and pin all that gak together any time soon.

I shall bite my thumb at the Restic Knights and say that I'd be happy with getting those golems in RESTIC. Never had much of an issue with the larger restic figures.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Giant metal models + pinning makes my heart hurt.

I HATED putting together many of my metal Jacks and the wife's Beasts for Warmahordes. As such, I both hope the Greater Elemental is huge, for aesthetic and cool table presence for KOW, and yet cringe at the thought of putting it together.

That said, I wished for more giant gribblies for KOW as a game system, and this KS showed me they were willing to go that route... so good on them, and this is me excited for the game as a whole.

I still can't believe I went in for $850 though, even if most of it was in "Mantic Bucks" which they owed me. :-p

Huh. 330k hit, for the low low goal of 350 they're going to fund (hopefully) hard plastic wound counters. Main pledge levels will see 4 with an add-on of 4 counters for 5 bucks.

I uhh... guess they come with a top you can use? It's a flat base you can put dice on which is... next to pointless imo but maybe not. Or you can add the insert which at the moment looks like some left overs from your undead bits box with a spike so you can add jacobs ladder style rings to tab up damage that way.

Even if they're coming free I'm not sold.

They say something big is coming for the Abyssals but it'll have to be a post-close-catch-up-thing as I'm not sure I see people emptying their wallets to get these counters.

I'm usually relentlessly optimistic but 20k for the wound counters at this stage seems like a misstep. Maybe I'm misjudging people's enthusiasm for them though.

Curious as to what the big abyssal thing hinted at might be since they're liable to unlock it anyway.

Coming next - something large stirs from the Abyss.

They're Tolkienesque, which is about as high elf as it gets

The comments seem to be sulking over the wound markers

(those 'spears' will snap like nobody's business whth would tokens being pulled on and off, they really need to be much thicker, something like a tree trunk to be workable)

They'll just be more to paint, I will likely be integrating wound markers into my movement trays eventually. These are liable to get tossed into my bits box at best. But for those that want them yay.

Almost taken 3k out of the 20k goal so we may well see the hinted item yet anyway.

Even with my meager modeling skills I could totally put one of those bases together.

I can see their use, but I would have hoped for something a bit more... interesting, I guess? A pole with stacking damage counters is alright, I guess.

Plus they are just an amalgam of heads and bits from the original renendra hard plastic kits, any Undead player with a few bits in their bits box could knock them up in about 5 minutes. Perhaps they are useful for those not that way inclined.

A big, fat, thick tree trunk- like peg molded into a base makes much more sense than a flimsy pole to attach those rings to.

The ring concept seems solid. Just needs something that can survive multiple games.

I wonder when I see folks saying this, "Have they ever tried epoxy?". As long as the connection point isnt too small, I've found that some 2 part epoxy is just wonderful and darn near bombproof for assembling metal models. It gives a much stronger bond and not nearly as brittle as superglue. You have to find a way to support or clamp the models for about 5 minutes or so while it dries, but that's pretty easy. I use so much epoxy for models and terrain now that I buy it in bottles instead of the little dual-plunger dispensers.

As for warjacks, I can't speak for other factions, but I just assembled 2 plastic and 4 metal Khador Warjacks (For Kings of War appropriately enough…) in one sitting.
http://chicagoskirmish.blogspot.com/2014/11/more-reinforcements-knights-and.html
They were dead simple to assemble and no pinning necessary for a rock solid attachment. The plastic ones were more customizable and didn't require epoxy, but when it comes to ease of filing, scraping, sanding, etc, I'll take metal over plasti-resin any day.

I just still use the wound counters from the original KoW Kickstarter. They work perfectly. I have two sets. Never needed any more than that.

There's still a lot of stuff missing from the Nature army, I think the package armies need sylvan kin or gnomes and centaurs to reach the same value as the others.

I dropped down to the $50 pledge level, mostly for the fluff (Dungeon Saga!).

I might see myself buying a unit or two in the future though, like the succubii or abyssals. - Might help flesh out dungeon saga baddies, for example.

Looks like we just hit $350k, hopefully this KS will go out with a bang with its last Abyssal goal.

Think I'm gonna end up using those wooded wound counters that someone linked, the hard plastic ones seem like a fun idea but I can guarantee I'll break them after a while.

**Edit**

Optional Add-on $365,000 – Abyssal Fiend: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1744629938/kings-of-war-fantasy-battle-game-2nd-edition/posts
The Abyss is home to all manner or vile and wicked creatures, and fiends are no exception. While these bestial creatures vary wildly in shape, size and specific capabilities, they are united in
being utterly lethal and terrifyingly evil. Champions amongst the forces of darkness, they are thankfully rarer than their smaller kin, and utterly terrifying to face in battle.

The Abyssal Fiend is a brutish monster, an elite, hard-hitting unit capable of immense feats of crushing strength or which can be upgraded to fly or use magic.
If we hit this stretch goal, we will produce the Abyssal Fiend – a monstrous prince of darkness that comes with wings, different weapons and head options to customise your figures.
With this model funded, you can add on to your pledge for $25.

Enjoy.

I'm really not sure if I should bother posting it.

I gather its to suggest the Golem as a sort of controlled construct and the Elemental as a sentient creature.

Oh and the normal Obsidian Golems have the silly helmets so I guess they have to keep things consistent.

The Abyssal Fiend is effing monstrous! The Abyssals do nothing for me, but that might just find its way into my pledge.

Fiend is close to being locked in with 30 minutes to go.

^This is my guess for size, however, it's best not to assume until we see something produced or at least get some assurances. I skimmed the updates but I dunno if it said anywhere what the height would be.

Aaaaand, done. Final total: $366,496

That's Abyssal fiend locked in, and I'm sure the centuar will be funded during the pledge manager.
