Just for the sake of not having a super long title I'mma put my question in here instead of the title xD

Do people get mad if you use, say. an E alternate sculpt of a warcaster as its P ruleset. I mean, obviously you would TELL your opponent.
I ask mostly because the epic versions of warcasters have the newer sculpts and generally look better, but often I find myself preferring their prime
  stats / abilities etc.

In friendly games if your opponent is happy with it I can't see it being a problem.

In a tournament it would be a big fat no.

It depends really. Like, try and proxy horsevlad (vlad3) as vlad1 and you'll have issues, wrong base size... And dat horse.

Generally though, you'll have very few issues so long as it's the same 'character', with a similar load out (spear for a spear, sword for sword etc) that can do a good stand in. I use epic Krueger in place of prime Krueger a lot of the time.

I doubt anyone in a casual game would have any problem with it. In nearly every tournament or organized event you may go to though, you will have to use the correct model.

If it is casual and it has the similar load-out and base, I see no problem. However, as gobbo mentioned in the thread, that is going to be a big problem when you go to a competitive scene then you cannot do that. Might be a good idea to get the model if you like playing it so you do not have to worry about it.

In casual games its basically up to your opponent.

Personally, I feel proxying is ok most of the time, but it helps to see the actual models on the table in play to help solidify in your mind what those models do. If you run IFP, but they look like Nyss Hunters, there is a thing in my mind during the game that is going to think its a shooty unit no matter if you told me or not.

Same with Casters. If I play against a proxied pGrissel, but the actual model is eGrissel, at a tourney I might get them mixed up now.

Not really a big deal, and generally proxying is a short time thing anyways, but long term I'd say pick up the models.

For me it comes down mostly to Lylith and her epic varient. Looks much better then her prime

Though I like Elylith's feat about as much as the primes and if need be the prime's not too bad.

You should always use the proper model. People identify models by appearance, and changing it can mess your opponent up.

Especially since most prime-epic versions have radically different gear and poses.

Its a real cheap shot if you win because your opponent thought he was facing eLilyth, and acted accordingly, but you were actually using pLylith.
