I played 4 games this weekend with my new big ship and it seems like its way over the top to kill i never once even lost all my shileds Plus it gets to do 3to 4 attacks a turn to just take out 2to 3 ships a turn. so is this big ship just op our what.

On a side note i also find the flacon to be way to hard to kill

Outflanking

Well, considering that it costs 90 points naked, one would expect it to be fairly tough. Still, it has no agility, and as it can only be played in larger games, you should have no difficulties taking it down if you focus fire.

It'd be nice if they released epic game versions of torpedoes and rockets so that killing ships like the CR-90 felt like, say, it did in TIE Fighter.

Past the Y and B-Wing, torpedoes didn't work well for killing small ships. Seems like they're just one-use moderately-better lasers instead of weapons for killing big ships.

I find it hard to focus down any large our big ship . Heck any ship with a lot of shields and hp is a pain to take out

Sigh. No, just like all of your "X is overpowered" threads about 40k, you just don't understand the game very well and are too eager to blame balance issues. The CR90 is terrible in a competitive game because of its poor durability (for the point cost) and lack of energy. If you take turbolasers you can't fire them every turn, and if you take the quads you're incredibly predictable because you're committed to doing max-energy maneuvers every turn. And either way you're not using any special abilities that require energy since it's all going directly to the guns. It's very difficult for a CR90 to fire enough shots to deal 100-150 points worth of damage before dying, and most of the time you're better off taking a much cheaper transport if you want a huge ship.

Sounds like you're just not focusing fire very effectively. It's not like a CR90 is rolling lots of defense dice or dodging your arcs, just point ships at it and keep shooting until it dies. Ships with lots of HP and no other defense are only hard to take out if you make the mistake of damaging it and then getting distracted by another target instead of finishing off the first one.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

A couple of HLC ships to strip shields, then bombers and APT from the rear. Use Jendon/st321 to have the locks ready then charge in and focus. Its dirty.

Yeah- I could see Jendon and a pair of Defenders stomping all over it.

If anything, in the 3 or 4 games I've played with it, it's probably a little weak.

When you're playing a 300 point game as say, Imperials, you know there's going to be some sort of tough Rebel ship there, whether it will be a Huge ship or even just the Falcon. So, it just makes sense, when you have 300 points to play with, to take one or two bombers.

I find it too weak too. After a few games trying with different builds, I think I'd rather just spend the 300 points on small and large ships.

I've found the best pairing I've had for the CR-90 and the Rebel Transport is the Transport with the Dutyfree, but the CR-90 fore section carrying the slicer tools. That way, you get to keep the defensive actions from the aft section and the slicer tools do more reliable damage than, say, a target lock, from the front.
