As the title says, I was wondering how Sigismund appeared at the siege of Terra. My understanding is he had black armor, and was the emperors champion,

but it was before he went to lead the Black Templars. So, is it correct that he still had IF iconography, but had black and white armor? Thoughts would be appreciated.

The entire 1st company of the Imperial Fists wore partial or full black and showed both the Imperial Fist and the Crusader's Cross. I imagine Sigismund was no different.

On that note, something to keep in mind when talking about this kind of stuff in 30k, the legions were substantially more varied than a chapter could ever be. Every legion had dozens if not hundreds of accepted color patterns, personal heraldry, changes based on sub-specialty, campaign honors, etc. When it comes to the legions, there is no set way anything was done.

Nice. See, I didn't even know that Sigismund went on to lead the Black Templars. Are THEY ever going to get another Codex?

what about this? Is this more of what you imagined?

Inquisition motto: 'They don't like it cause the emprah don't like it'

Inquisition logic: "Hundred thousand guardsmen in the area....... WHO CARES, COMMENCE EXTERMINATUS!!! the emperor shall know his own"

Inquisition excuse: "it is the emperors will"
or
"he/she was tainted by chaos"

I believe he only became the Emperor's Champion at the Siege of Terra. Before then I believe he was a Sword Brethren of 1st Company, Black Templars 1st Chapter of the Imperial Fists Legion.

Some of the Successor Chapters will have kept their names from the pre-Heresy Legiones Astartes.

He was the Captain of the First Company of the Imperial Fists, so not "just" a lowly Sword Brother.

Considering the joke that is Chapter Tactics: Black Templars I'm going to assume "no".

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Black Templar are still awesome and moving them into the main codex made sense. They should probably have done the same with Blood Angels.

Not just first captain but considered one of most skilled marines of his age and most deadly fighters in the history of impirium second only to the primarchs.
No mere sword brother but a adviser and trusted Lt to a primarch.

Not just one of the most skilled, probably the most. The only one capable of matching Sigismund in battle was Sevatar, and they stalemated each other for hours. Sevetar only "won" by breaking the rules of the fight and resorting to an elbow smash IIRC.

agh, did not know he was that powerful, very powerful but not the most powerful of the entire legions and maybe greatest of all marines.

There is no basis to the theory that he was the greatest space marine fighter. throughout the HH books it is mentioned of how Lucius was the greatest swordsman in the astartes, and even Kor Phaeron a non astartes would be higher placed than he was as he actually wounded Gulliman in Hand to Hand combat, albet after he was interred with the power of chaos so that probably gave him a little bit of an edge

Couple of wrong things stated.

Kor phaeron never wounded guilliman in combat, it was a psychic attack.

Lucius would be outskilled easily by sigismund as he was "killed" by a ravenguard swordman.

Kharn never wins duals and sparing (not quite neover but you know what I mean) as he always holds back, check what he did to erebus when the gloves were off.

I'm a world eaters fanboy and even I know sigismund would wipe the floor (rules and fluff) with nearly any other praetor level character in 30k, and can give a couple of primachs a decent fight (rules only)
