So I finally came up with a color scheme for my Tyranids, but after some feedback from my friend and some Photoshop I simply can't decide between my original color scheme or the one with the one from Photoshop, it's one of those rare cases were I actually like them both equally much.

Well first let me say - great paint job, and nice photoshop work too.
Secondly - how the heck do you intend to keep up that scheme over gaunt after gaunt after gaunt haha?
I like both, a lot - but the purple on nids is just so natural and striking so I voted for the photoshop.

Thank you for the kind words!
I've gotten quite used to painting horde armies like IG, Vampire Counts and did some paint commissions for my friend's zombie cultist so it's really a matter of how you handle your batches of miniatures. Ironically the army that took me longest to paint, was my Red Scorpions Space Marines, mostly because I get stuck in the mindset of making every single marine unique and what not so it makes me feel like I'm painting several character models, you never have that problem with horde armies because it's so much easier to just accept that every single model you paint is just one of many... If that makes sense.

What you need to do is, is this the paint scheme you want for your big gribblies?
That said, I like the photoshopped one. The original looks great as well, but just the photoshopped one looks brighter so for me nicer.
Then again, it's over 12 years and I still don't have a paint scheme for my Nids, I keep changing all the time, I am going to have Rainbow Nids now.

Pardon me but gribblies? Sorry, English isn't my first language. :p

Figure of speech Zewrath. Hard to explain now to think of it, but a few us on The Tyranid Hive use it as a term for Nids.
Gribblies could be said to be small numerous creatures. Since Tyranids have lots of creatures big and small, I used the term big gribblies.
Hope this makes some sense.

I would add less color, rather than more. In your mind, start with the second picture, move towards the first, and then take another step in the same direction.

The only color there I wouldn't have is the red details. The red pops too much and is against the other colors in terms of scale, so while the splashes of yellow can be lost, mixing and blending together in large swarms to obscure exact numbers, the red just accents 'this is an individual creature right here'.
