So I have a 1850 tourdement in a few weeks and would like some feedback on the list I have:

HQ:

overlord w warscythe and res orb
Royal court: necron lord w res orb

TROOPS:

X2 20 necron warriors

X3 10 necron warriors/ ghost ark

X2 monoliths

This is exactly 1850 and my plan was to put The Lord and overlord in the 20 warrior blobs, deep strike the monoliths and bring them through the portals while my 3 ghost arks take objectives and cause havoc. So what you guys think?

what models do you have available?

Typically a competetive army for necrons involves a lot of nightscythes with small units of warriors in them, catacomb command barges and annihilation barges.

in the stomp'n center of da WAAAAAAGGH!!!!

biggest problem that i see with it is the large masses of warriors. it should work decently with the ghost arks, res orbs, and monoliths but i dont think that they'll be able to live when it comes to blast templates which will be able to wipe squads out with ease. You're following the old style of playing the necrons and i dont think that it is the most competitive way that necrons are played. Dont get me wrong, the army looks fun, but i dont think it will last when it comes to a competitive environment.

my favorite build is the wraith spam but that wont work too well with your slower style army do necrons have any good long range anti armor? that or maybe some special characters to jump around the map and take out high priority squads.

"I dunno wot you been told,
stormboyz mobs is mighty bold.
We're da hardest of da lot.

This looks fun and I seriously doubt you will ever loose an entire squad of warriors. 20 men, spaced well, with a resorb and 3 ghost arcs, they would have to wipe the whole squad in shooting. I've never seen it, even when I only run 1 20 man squad and 1 arc.

That being said you had better pray you never get into cc. Due to the low initiative of your warriors if they loose combat and they fail that morale check they are all dead. Your overlord without mindshackle, sep weave, phase shifter isn't going to scare anyone off.

You also have no answer for flyers, should your meta include any.

Thanks for the feed back. I'm an older necron player see so I'm more used to slow and durable and can't really come to grips with fast striking necrons. Not much long range anti tank except for gravey destroyers, I rely on my gauss to take out armour

Yeah anti flyer weapons are my only worry ATM, was thinking of removing a 20 man squad and the normal lord, add either a triarch stalker and upgrade the overlord more or something else that could be anti flyer

I have no idea what you would do against a single wraithknight. 250 points of something that is in a little over 50% of tournament lists according to Torrent of Fire will absolutely wreck your day.

You would also be tabled by any knight player, likely tabled and out-objectived by fast Eldar. Very likely also tabled by Daemons, or out-objectived, whatever they fancy at the time if the above armies bring a WAAC list that is.

That being said, I have seen a "similar" list run, but it included Obyron and Zahndrekh, essentially having the ability with the monolith and ghostwalk to port around the table.

Aftermath can be calculated.
