I am working on a space marine chapter, possibly a dark angels successor of sorts.

I was wondering if, with a small description, I could get some help. Choosing a name for my chapter. All of the one's I've thought of seem pretty naff and I hate the idea of work in got all these models without a name (I know how silly that sounds)

Right the colour scheme is red with black shoulder pads and black backpack. The chapter 'symbol' is a sword. - Ill will try to get a picture of a few marines up tomorrow but for now was looking for a few ideas to work with for the moment.

I dont have any specific characteristics other than perhaps using the dark angels codex to run the army.

Any ideas/suggestions are welcome

Well Black, Red with swords (possibly robes) sounds like a great start for some sort of black Templar successors.

I was a templar collector/player

The trouble is black templars didn't have successors, they just made more crusades. But essentially though the robes were once is the contributing factors to playing a dark angels successor. That and I love plasma

What names have you got already? This could give us an idea of what you want to go for.

What about the Crimson Blades or Bloody Blades or something like that?

Why not a imp fist successor successor chapter (kinda like say the sucessors of the red templars) that could be played as ether BT or IF

But really what do you want there fluff to be?

Play style I prefer ranged fighting. The person I play against most is a chaos/bid player so cc never ends well when I was templar or other cc player.

I love bolters, plasma and terminators but I'm working on a iron hands horus heresy army so want an army that's fairly different to them in terms of fluff and game play

It looks like some of these are books, funnily enough, after googling them

A good place to start is make up a planet name if you are stuck, for example Angelus (Latin word for angel), and do:
Sons of Angelus
Angelus Revengeance etc.

Another option is naming them after their personality, using an animal works well:
Dark Eagles
Eagles of Fate
Eagle Talons

Finding a theme relevant to what your chapter is based on works the best though, for example my recent chapter I made is based around vikings, and I named the chapter the Blood Eagles, based on the horrible Viking execution.

In your case, I don't have much to work off in the way of themes though.

Red shoulders dark angels successor? Red Angels works as well.

Randomly I also really like the name The Harbingers.

Blades Of Fury (the chapter master wil need ice skates)

The Burgun Blades (as in burgundy red)

You could also put them on bikes and call them the Red Riders then sell BB Guns to kids under their name

For some reason it's always hard to come up with a decent chapter name. Maybe it'd be easier if you lock down with chapter they descend from, what their MO is and how they see themselves. Are they codex adherent, do they have an interesting background etc?
