/start rant
Am I the only one who dislikes the way the intercepter rule works? Let me state now that I unterstand that it works this way for "balance" reasons and such. It makes perfect sence when it allows you to shoot things that are flying or driving into range, I get that. But how does it allow you to taget a squad of terminators/warp talons/ect. that teleport directly onto the surface? You get no warning that they are coming, they are just suddenly there. The same can be said, to a lesser degree about Trygons/Mawlocs/ect that burrow from below. Now as I am newly returning to the game after 12 or so years I may missunderstand exactly how the rule works, but I would like to discuss it in a at least mostly civil manor. Thanks.

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always!" —Jago Sevatarion

It's not a terribly common rule, and quite often it's paired with Skyfire, meaning against ground targets it'll only be hitting on 6's.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

It should be a initiative test. I think would help mitigate all the riptide (and broadside) hate.

Skyfire now applies to Skimmers as well.

Lore wise it's bananas, but rule wise, I think it's fine as is. It's one of the few things that can help stop deathstar units. Also, as previously said, it's pretty rare.

For the Tau Early Warning Override the fluff bit (the bit in italics before the rules) explains that it can "detect electronic signature of teleport beams and orbital entry jump systems and jolt the battlesuits weapons to lock on status before the target has a chance to react"
That answers how they target teleports. As for things coming out of the warp or webway I don't know.

EWO is probably a group of wide-spectrum sensors that catch-up interference in its vicinity. Warp magicks interfere with systems and electronic waves

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!" |
