I don't mind painting the eyes of guardsmen.

But then, my guardsmen all have oversized gas-masks.

Orks. Hate painting orks.

So many buckles, straps, teef, plaques and icons, horns...

I love playing my Orks, but painting them is a fething chore.

Menoth Jacks.

I like the look when they are finished, and they aren't nearly as fiddly as orks on the whole, but painting them bores the socks off me.

And painting my Guardian was hair-pulling-inducing due to all the fiddly bling.

Anything power armor. It's so boring and I get sick of trim work. I say this as I may dive into painting two DA halves to DV + 5 termis for a friend to help him get into the game. Good change of pace, hoping I don't get burned on my usual power armor fatigue. Was one main reason why I have so much unpainted CSM, though I've painted all but 3 CD models.

Termagants.

I've painted 68 so far and it's just so repetitive. They're all running in the same pose. It's just whether they hold the gun in their left or right and if their mouth is open or not.

Ugh.

I'm currently doing this....60 down, 30 more to go....and then I get to look forward to 60 Hormogaunts! Yay. Its becoming a drag, for sure. At least when its all said and done, I'll have 50 points to play with!

Cultists. The models are so detailed, you have to make decisions on what to call out to paint them in bulk. Have lost weekends without getting a unit done.

It's okay. You're safe now.

ultimentra wrote:I also hate putting wash onto models, I either put on too much or too little.

Amen.

I hate doing pupils. My Orks have eyes, but no pupils.
Also, I hate doing flesh. I forgot about that since I haven't had to paint it for a couple of years. When I say flesh, I mean human flesh. I tried doing different colours, fluffing it as "melachrome-thingy-geneseed" LIKE THE SALAMANDERS!
I don't remember the name. Either way; never worked out, and the only "flesh" I have is the marine subject to the flesh colour experiments (I got him like that), and two Black Reach Captains.

I also hate Centurion Arms apparently. I've been sat here for at least 3 hours because I decided to finish painting the centurions I got in July. I've made enough progress to paint the guns. Now I need to tidy them up and glue it all together.

If I sound like I'm being a condescending butthole, I'm not. Read my reply as neutrally as possible, please and thank you.

Regular marines are so boring to paint and I still got all the Dark Angel models from 3 boxes of Dark Vengeance waiting to get painted.

I also got 75 regular bolter marines (I was given 25 of those sprues with 3 bolter marines on each sprue) and I have absolutely no idea about which color/chapter I want to paint them. Really looking forward to that.

I said "feth this gak" and quit my Necron army shortly after I fully painted my Ghost Ark. Never again. I hate the Necron vehicles with a passion now.

Metal Bawkses, swear to the God-Emperor, best thing ever. How the whole thing just clicks together and it's actually stable on the table, ufff, love them.

On topic: 40k wise, that was it, the Ghost Ark. I was genuinely pissed with the painting. It was just an awful experiences.

(Best I think it was the IG Enginseer. I love the model and it was a joy to see the final result with the whole contraste between red, the metals and that tiny bit of flesh.)

To be honest, I enjoy painting anything.
The one thing that had left me frustrated is my DKOK, I am not skilled enough to get them looking good in a reasonable amount of time. It takes me about 5 hours per model for me to be happy, and since I have a ton of them, I just don't have enough time.

I just wrote a post on what I liked painting, now it's time for the opposite. I hate painting Space Marine Captains. My Crimson Fists are fun to paint because they're simple, but the Captains have TOO much detail. Pedro Kantor wasn't bad, but every Captain I've painted I didn't enjoy.

Yes! I have very little fun painting SM/CSM tanks in general....so easy, but so much work and so mf-ing boring! A necessary evil!

Same as that

I also hate painting CSM backpacks and feet. I've normally had enough of painting by the time I get to the backpack and the feet, I just never know what to do with them. Do I do them all one colour, halve it, eh, a bit weird I know.

My painting issue is with monotony. Get bored painting the same colors over and over so will usually paint a unit or two from one army and then move on to something from a different army and cycle like that. This is why I no longer have any fully painted armies. Just don't feel the need to push on and bore myself to tears while painting anymore.

Can I say everything? I just don't enjoy painting.

Though, once I get my finances completely straightened out, I plan on starting a new army, which I will force myself to paint (my plan is to do a unit per month - buy, assemble and paint).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

If you get tired of panting Marines, start a different chapter scheme. Nobody cares if you have rex, blue, green, and white marines and call them all Ultramarines. For tacticals, it makes it easier to discern squad anyhow. He inky thing that is more of a pain is swapping in special weapons models (becaus it looks dumb havin 9 green tacticals and one blue heavy weapon guy.

Eldar. I find all the big flat "clean" surfaces such a pain in the rear to get to look decent. With Space Marines, you can get away with sort of a dirty look, but these damn space elves are too clean.

Marine heavy weapons....gah, I hate painting those! I have two devastator squads with a coat of blue paint on them, and I really don't know that I'll ever advance beyond that based on the loathing for marine heavy weapons I picked up from doing tactical squads.

Come to think of it, I'm not a fan of painting any imperial guns,be they on infantry or vehicles.
