Going to play my first apoc game in a couple of weeks and working on a list. The librarius formation seems awesome. For survivability, i was thinking about putting all 5 RPs in TDA with SS and was curious how psychic hoods would work.

The question at hand, if I were to give all 5 RPs psychic hoods. Would that make it so i have 5 DTW rolls everytime one of them is targeted?

The libarius formation is nice to have in a vehicle with fire points.

Get em close pop out a vortex every turn until seismic disaster charts start happening and have fun.

I am not a Psyker heavy faction, Tau and all, but I thought one could only make a single Deny The Witch Roll per manifestation... ?
Exceptions for things which allows the Deny the Witch roll to be Re-Rolled, obviously.

You get each of your pyskers master lvs in dice + whatever the current power roll is then roll any number of those when denying.

But the rules for psychic hood is each time a unit or model within 12"of the wearer is targeted, the wearer of the hood can attempt to DTW in their stead as if they were the targeted unit. If failed the target is affected not the one attempting to deny.

I guess ive played magic for years so i think of it as the stack. The enemy casts, tiggers to deny hit triggering 5 rp with psychic hoods to deny occur. You then have 5 attempts to DTW?

I will review it closer but the answer is likely Negative.

What I expect to find one of two things:
The first is instructions informing us that a single Deny the Witch roll is made, for we are often limited to a single set of tests when they occur.
The second would be instructions which trigger off a 'Failed Result,' which means a single failed result is all it would take for those instructions to trigger.

I will put forth this line of thought though:
Even if I do find a method to do what you are desiring is it worth using?

Splitting the number of dice being rolled across multiple tests, when compared to a single test with the same number of dice, has a far lower chance of success. As we only have a limited number of dice to use during this phase it would not be possible to use the same dice for each separate test, we would have to discard them once spent. Outside of the one situation where it could be beneficial, 'hedging bets' on a low Master Level power so you can see if two dice cancels it instead of all four, rolling multiple tests does appear to have a far lower chance of success then not.

Once you have done this with the first psychic hood, that's your DtW attempt done. There is no opportunity for a second psychic hood to kick in.

If the Deny the Witch attempt is failed, the psychic power is resolved as normal
- Psychic Hoods
