I was at a show in Brum on Sunday and on a whim bought a couple of blisters of battlefront 15mm Vietnam figures as they were heavily discounted.

I’m basing them individually for Skirmish/Platoon types games, though for the life of me I’ve no idea as to what ruleset to use. I’m thinking of perhaps adapting Bolt Action as it would probably work well, but I’m concerned they might not capture the ‘feel’ of asymmetrical guerilla warfare correctly.

Anyone have any recommendations for good rules for Nam games?

I use it for all Vietnam games. But I wrote it... so I'm a little biased!

Big P's recommendation seems like a good choice, imo. I've got the rules and the supplement. And while I unfortunately haven't actually played it yet, the rules seem like they should work well. It also helps that the game is designed for individually-based 15mm figures.

Scenarios only, though. No points lists. I don't know whether that's an issue for you or not. But if it is, then you're forewarned.

I'm fine with Scenario games. I actually prefer them to points based games.

Incidentally I really like the Battlefront US miniatures, but the PAVN miniatures are appalling. Without a doubt the worst Battlefront figures I've even seen.

I kind of agree; I've got a metric feth-ton of their PAVN and VC; along with an imperial feth-ton of the Peter Pig ones.

PPs are far superior, but unlike most PP ranges they don't mix as well with the BF ones; they're noticeably smaller.

Yep. The US miniatures came in a Blister and I could see they were of decent quality.

The PAVN figures came in a box so whilst I could see pictures of the painted stands I couldn’t see the figures themselves. The proportions and poses are dreadful and there is a distinct lack of detail. it looks like the range was sculpted in a rush.

I only paid £15 for the company boxed set but I still feel kind of ripped off by these blob like figures, It will be interesting to see if I can make them look respectable.
