Opinions
I wanted to use a fortification with a gun emplacement and was wondering what was the best out of these three? Main reason is because I currently own these three and I'm looking for the best uses for my Dev Squad. Thanks,
1. Imperial Bastion
2. ADL w/?
3. Skyshield Landing Pad
Explanations why you prefer either one?

Dev squad? the bastion isnt bad. they get the height, the protection, and you can get it Void shield generators if you have the stronghold book. (to avoid heldrake toasting) ADL is ok. your basic of basic barriers. Skyshield is just silly and i dont recall if they get emplacements

No emplacements for Skyshield. Makes for an interesting platform for long range dudes, though (Lascannons ahoy).
Since the Quad Gun got a nerf on Interceptor, best bet when buying the ADL is for the comm thing.

Skyshield doesn't get the gun emplacements.
For a dev unit I would recommend the bunker. The hits the unit takes if the building gets a pen result are not that bad when you have a 3+ Sv. The unit can now fire the gun from inside the building and any weapon the unit doesn't fire will fire itself at BS2. The void shield is a good buy if you play against a lot of heldrakes (they are becoming more and more rare). Alternatively the escape hatch is useful if you have a melee unit you want to shunt forward 1st turn and you don't mind your devs staying on the roof with a 3+ cover.
The ADL is pretty miserable when you don't have a method to get back up after GtG. The unit only gets a 4+ cover save unless it GtG.
Keep in mind a few thing with fortifications;
1) You can deploy the gun seperately from the building/line so feel free to fortify some ruins if you want to deploy it there instead.
2) You can always take barricades for 10 pts for 6" of 4+ cover. Btter yet take tank traps for 15 pts and not only get 4+ cover for the models behind it but make a zone of the board where vehicles...like say imperial knights...count as being inaccessible. Tank traps can win games if used right.
3) Be careful the fortification doesn't become a trap for you. This is a common mistake I have seen many SM players make. They turtle up inside an ADL with most of their units and then loose the game when they realize that most armies can out shoot them outside of 24" where their grav cannons, bolters, and special weapons stop working.
IMO you would probably be better served with taking a stormtalon or stalker and putting your devs in a ruin (preferably one fortified by a techmarine). The stalker puts out better firepower than the quad gun, is about as tough, is cheaper than the fort, and doesn't waste the other weapons in an expensive dev unit. The stormtalon is more flexible but more pricey. If you can take a forgeworld mortis dread those are really good too.

To be fair the ADL isnt bad for vehicles. they benifit way more and can cover a great distance or multiple areas.

It isn't terrible but you can get the exact same save for 10 pts added to any other fortification (like a void shield generator, which is awesome...especially on ice worlds with rebel bases).

Buildings hands down. I say bastion because thats what you own but the bunker is what I've used extensively. Its a scoring model, can activate its own comms, blocks LoS, is an (stationary) assault vehicle, can take an escape hatch for 18" forward deployment and more. Such a versatile inclusion for only 55 pts base. 75 pts in your case. The bastion has all this but the advantage of greater view of the battlefield at the expense of costing 20 pts more and taking up more space which is good and bad depending.
The landing pad I would avoid unless your doing something crazy like starting a fire raptor on it or something. It has drawbacks like being unable to see approaching models from on top once they get close plus its large footprint is annoying.
The ADL as mentioned is pretty miserable for most armies outside of unlocking a comms.

Are gun emplacements worth it in the long run?

Not since the skyfire/interceptor nerf of 7th edition.
Fortifications are still solid, but the guns emplacements really lost a lot of their luster.

There's also the vehicle changes to take into account.
The AP4 of a Quad Gun is not going to explode any fliers. It can only glance. Unless your Flier is AV10 a Quadgun won't worry it much.
The Lascannon has the right punch, but only one shot.
The Quad Lascannon however...

How is the Bunker a scoring unit? Automatically Appended Next Post: Or are you talking about the Bastion?

Claimed buildings are Scoring Units.
See "Scoring" last bullet point, and "Claimed Buildings".
