hey folks

I'm here to share with you my new project: a small warband of chaos chosens.

here's the army list:

1 chosen champion, combi-melta, power weapon, slaanesh mark
2 chosen, plasma, slaanesh mark
1 chosen, missile launcer, slaanesh mark
1 chosen, slaanesh mark

3/4 chaos spawns

I like the idea of them being part of the alpha legion since this chapter is known for spreading the seed of chaos and therefore I can imagine this small group trying to convert people deep into an hive city which is really cool to me

This is the first model I'm working on (not finished yet), this is the champion. I wanted him to be something like a "living shrine" so i put an icon and some candles on his backpack. I also plan on sculpting scales on his mantle to make him look more like an "alpha legion thinghy". let me know what do you think of it!!!!

Love the modelling and painting side of it but gaming wise it is easily gonna be taken down. Spawn are meh at best because they are so random and the Chosen are good but not plentiful enough to survive. For example, in the same amount of points I can bring a 30 strong unit of boyz, and that is gonna overrun this war and due to just being overwhelming.

actually you cannot play more than 20 models in this format as we play it in my area

spawns are acutally really good because they ignore difficult terrains and such which is really crucial in this kind of game I think. But I don't know, I actually just want to play spawns and a few plasmaguns XD hahahaha

guys, here's a question: a few friends pointed out that actually the alpha legion does not use big icons or candels and such and they suggested to look for the wordbearers chapter insted. That chapter, thoe, is actually more loyal to khorne than slaanesh... what should I do?

The Alpha legion are NOT Chaos! They're the legion that likes to stab people's backs, and they did that to the Emperor. ZIf they were "corrupted" by Chaos, it would be to stab Chaos in the back.

Fluff questions about whether or not the Alpha Legion is loyalist or traitor should be taken to the background forum. In typical Alpha Legion style, nothing is certain from the fluff. They have mutations and daemon engines though, which highly implies that at least some have fallen to chaos.

Being the Alpha Legion, it wouldn't be beyond them to spread chaos-worship amongst a planet's population even if they are actually loyalists, as part of some complicated scheme.

Big icons, candles, etc. is a more Word Bearer-type of thing, yes. Any fluff I've read on the Word Bearers implies they worship all four gods equally much, with no leaning towards Khorne.

Because anything not loyal to the Imperium is (Not Xenos)!

Word Bearers are Undivided, so they give equal love to each god...
one warband may lean a bit more towards a specific god, so Slaanesh would work just fine for them...
they are your models, though, so if you want to say that your Alpha Legion guys fell in with Slaanesh, nobody is going to object, unless they are jerks...
for the big icons and stuff, you could explain that your Alpha Legion dudes are just more Metal than the rest, which is why they split and now worship Slaanesh...
the conversion looks cool, so that is the most important part...

the question is, do you want to paint dark red guys, or blue/green guys more???
