Can I say, just wow. Look at that sculpt. So beautiful. His face just looks the deranged killer which is half his personality. What do you guys think?

Claws are wrong, no jump pack, face it excellent, paint job doesn't look right to me, other than that it's ok, it just seems to be missing that oomph that the others have

I think the skulls/trophies on the armor combined with the flayed skin on the back is a little over the top. Obviously if you buy gw and fw products you expect the skulls but reminds me too much of the necon flayed ones. The dead guardsmen I think are very cool and add to his presence. I wonder if the guy that sculpted him just had the original predator movie on loop because his claws are very reminiscent of the predator combined with the various trophies. The face and armor look great I think and even the ruins he is posed on I think look awesome. Just want a little more Jack the ripper and a little less predator.

I don't know how his claws were supposed to be, but a jump pack could easily be added if so desired.

Does he even have a Jump Pack, rules wise? I know Corax does.

He is Jump Infantry but given he doesn't have a Jump Pack on the model it might represent him leaping around the place.

He is jump-infantry. I don't see the flesh-cape nor the skulls being OTT. The Night Lords are specifically noted in the fluff for having creepy armor trappings like skulls and flayed skin all over themselves. It's part of their terror tactics. Keep in mind that the Night Lords, above all other Legions, specialized in psychological warfare. Even moreso than the Alpha Legion (who could be considered more about intelligence/counter-intelligence).

Like it alot but can't have the flayed faces at all. It too GW. FW HH stuff has been so different and that different, non tacky, look is the one I really like. Pity because the armour, face, hair and pose are superb.

Ehm... flaying people's faces off is what Curze does. It's the whole schtick of the Night Lords in general. It's why the Emperor would send them to a troublesome planet... once it heard the Night Lords were coming, it would often surrender unconditionally.

Did a bit of googling and he had about 4 or 5 claws, one for each finger, not sure about one or the thumb, seems half photos have 4 other have 5. I would say a minor thing on a great model.

Well it looks like they gave him really long, clawed fingers and then the two Predator-style wrist blades on top of that, instead of traditional lightning claws. It looks cooler this way in my opinion, but I guess I can see why some people might be disappointed.

Mortarion has a latent psyker-like ability in the fluff (both the Hersy black library novels and the FW books themselves) that allows him to pseudo-teleport. It's referenced by other Primarchs a few times throughout the BL series.

This is the primarch I was most excited about seeing and I think FW absolutely smashed it, love the sculpt [lack of jump pack aside]. Does anyone know who sculpted this one? Can't see anyone credited with it on the FW website. Assuming either Egan or Stomorowski [or however his name is spelt].

No offence but not it's not, I hate doing this as it sounds like I'm being an ass hat, citation please
The ONE and only thing that comes close is vengeful spirit, that comes after fw made the rule, prior to that there is literally no reference to his teleport.
Where as until unremembered empire curze never had his entering shadows thing, literally hiding in any shadow.

Like a living statue, the Astartes stood his ground before Magnus. Two mighty warriors in brass, gold and ash-coloured Terminator armour appeared on either side of Grulgor, long, ebony-hafted scythes held in spiked cestus gauntlets. The harvest blades were dark and heavy with the weight of slaughter they had accumulated. A name leapt to Ahriman’s mind:
Manreapers.
“Ah, the nameless Deathshroud,” said Magnus, looking around him. “Tell your master to show himself. I know he is here, within forty-nine paces, if memory serves.”
Ahriman blinked as a dark outline seemed to flow from a patch of shadow at the foot of one of the Custodes Titans, a tall, gaunt figure in armour of pallid white, bare iron and brass, shrouded in a mantle of stormcloud grey. A bronze rebreather collar obscured the lower part of his hairless skull, and feathers of rancid air gusted from it at regular intervals. The giant figure breathed deeply of these vapours.
“Mortarion,” hissed Hathor Maat.
- A Thousand Sons, page 230
There are more references within the series, specifically in either Horus Rising, Fear to Tread or Angel Exterminatus, though I can't recall which atm. But yeah, Mortarion having some odd shadow-shift thingy has been a thing for awhile.

"Ahriman blinked as a dark outline seemed to flow from a patch of shadow at the foot of one of the Custodes Titans"
So he walked from under a shadow and that constitutes teleporting?, using some sort of "you cant see me" voodoo sure, but not teleporting, keep them coming though, as I would genuinely like to see if I actually missed something.

He didn't walk out from under a shadow, he materialized out of it, unless you think that simply standing in the shadow of something would make you invisible to the super-human senses of an Astartes (and a Primarch, no less- Magnus couldn't see him either). It's definitely some kind of invisibility power. Technically you're right that that isn't the same kind of thing as sheer teleportation, but then the HH game doesn't describe it as teleporting, either. "Mortarion is a terrifying, almost spectral figure, who despite his size and bearing is able to go unseen and attack from an unexpected quarter." That is the ability you're saying has no precedent in the fluff, no? It seems to entirely fall in line with what's described above.

yep im saying that, appearing from the shadow of a titan, did he walk around its leg? was it particually dark? did he have some sort of shroud about him?
im going with the shroud "you cant see me" so basically mortarion should have shroud... that's about it, the extra movement that he has, no justification at all.
just to be clear, teleport move, no justification, shroud/stealth etc completely understand.
to further cement the point, Corax has exactly the same sort of ability "move around unseen" and doesn't get the special movement, curze also seems to have a similar mechanic, no extra move, yet the character that doesn't have any kind of special teleport thing in the fluff can? shenanigans
