I like except thr bit about trying to get crows to pick up litter and conduct search and rescue too many variables, besides being the crows Fagin sounds just too awesome.
I do like the bit about crownapping researchers got griefed. I wonder if any tried to buy off the crows.
n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

We have a large murder living around our area. From time to time you'll see them walking up and down in front of the house in single file. A wee crow parade. Cawing at each other.
There's lots of fascinating intelligent animals on our planet, it'd be nice if more people realised this.

I wish I could get a corvid of any kind as pet. In the United States it's illegal to keep domestic crows and ravens as pets, or at all without special permits. Non-native corvids are available, and every bit as smart as their native cousins. However corvid ownership needs to be approached both in set up and mindset like a large parrot, they are VERY smart and need to be stimulated to be properly cared for. It's like having a toddler in the house.
I beg of you sarge let me lead the charge when the battle lines are drawn
Lemme at least leave a good hoof beat they'll remember loud and long

"Domestic" crows? I assume that is referring to a captive bred non-native?
Because otherwise it seems silly to make it illegal to have a native crow(who are not in danger of going extinct)

Domesticated crows sound awesome! I bet they'd make the best pet since Dogs. Especially if we can teach them to "talk".
Because really, who doesn't want a trained crow (or raven ) who can perch on your shoulder, eat corn out of your hand, make sarcastic wisecracks, and deliver your mail?
