This list has lots of Dakka, and iffy about relying on dakka over Power Klaws, but every list I play is just Warbosses and PK's and wanted to try something different.

I figure I'd grot screen until I got hte shootas in a decent position, while my firing line of cannons and lootas lays it down.
Then Kommandoes come in and scorch some weak squigglys in their back line, then potential back armor charge on vehicle.

Solid choices really it looks polished.

I'm like you about the klaws, I kinda wish you had them. I'd almost drop a squad of grots and one or two boyz models in each squad for it. Except that you brought 6 AP2 KMK's.

The 6 Lootas feel like they could be feast or famine and may be expendable for a a better kommando unit or boyz unit.

I'd find a way to field it with one grot unit I think, or with a unit of 19 grots.

i'm with Ris on this one.
get rid of one grotmob, the 4 extra gretchin on the guns and one loota.

for the freed up 61 points, i'll would get:

a squighound for the remaining gretchin -5
4 bigshootaz for the boymobs -20
6 extra shootaz for the boymobs -36


by the way, i'm not sure if it is viable to put a painboyz into a 20 boy strong mob...
to get back the painboy costs you'll need to make atleast 9 FnP saves... that will math out to around 27 suffered wounds...

not to mention all the dakka u'll miss out on...

Pretty big change here, I'm still toying with some new units I got for myself. The idea is my shoota boyz will be in front and screen storm boys behind them.
Kommandoes come in from back (any board edge no need to roll) and they do so the same turn Storm boyz launch over and assault.
Hope fully pinching the forces and causing them to split. Remaining shootas and kannons shoot at anything thats left.

Yep, nothing stopping you having Snikrot as the Warlord.

Yep!

The only time your Warlord doesn't get a trait is if it's a non-character model.

I constantly run kommandoes as a min unit with 2 rokkit launchas. Just infiltrate them on a point in no man's land or even behind enemy lines somewhere in cover. Or when it's not needed, the guyz can outflank. They're doing fine.

As for Snikrot, i'd imagine a full squad with a pk nob could potentially be quite threatening for reasonable ammount of points. 2 burnas are quite expensive, however. I wish we had regular flamers for 5 pts rather than burnas.

That's another good way to use them.
Sometimes it's very handy to have infiltrators out just to stall scout moves and other infiltrators. A full scouting Ravenwing bike army for example.

I've got a mob of the really Old Skool blood axe Kommandoes I'm wanting to take out of retirement. Still deciding on what Tom ram them with, as some conversion work will be needed.

True, but having a power weapon can be quite handy if you're aiming for combat with the mob.

They ARE expensive (50 points for 2 orks wtf?!) but the idea here is 2 fold

1) The turn they come in, drop 2 flamer templates EXACTLY where you need them and fry the crap out of whatever it is you want.
2) The D3 x2 auto hits on overwatch should prevent them from being counter charged the following turn.

If I can pay 50 points to fry some fragile backline unit and also keep snikrot and the PK nob alive to charge something the following turn? WELL WORTH IT IMHO


Sidebar: Orks CANT take cheap flamers like every other army? and CANT under any circumstances take them as troops? No other army is pigeon holed into "use an elite slot to take an entire unit of only flamers"

And not that 2d3 s4 ap5 shots would save you from mellee you don't want to take.
