I recently stumbled upon a rather strange game while browsing Steam (glorious deliverer of joy that it is), namely E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy.
From what I can grasp of the storyline, you are an elite, psychic, and cybernatically augmented soldier of the Culter Dei, sent out to kill some daemon-esque creatures, all the while warring with an evil Federation and a supremely badass looking sister faction, namely the Jian Shiang Di. You do this by talking to people, shooting people, slashing people to bits, mind-controlling people, HACKING people and my personal favourite; teleporting INSIDE of people, making them violently EXPLODE.
Also, you get to be buddies with at least some of these awesome warrior MONKS:
In other words, something completely up my alley
Due to some less-than-subtle similarities between this and WH40k, I figured making some miniatures based on this source material wouldn't be all too difficult, even with my rather modest conversion skills.
So here we go.
Firstly, the fluff:
The Secreta Secretorum. Few know of its existence. Fewer still know what this illustrious department of the Inquisition is actually for.
Their militant arm shows up every once in a while, executing their orders in quite.... 'exotic' ways.
Witness reports describe warriors appearing from thin air, only to disappear equally fast; strange weaponry capable of mowing down dozens of combatants; turrets or robots used against these warriors suddenly turning on their handlers; psykers teleporting inside an opponent, imploding their target; the list goes on.
Recently gathered intelligence speaks of a small strike team, its numbers ranging from 5 to 10 combatants, travelling towards the furthest edge of the Segmentum Obscurus, leaving a trail of bodies in their wake. Their objective? No-one knows, and the Secreta isn't talking.
Which is why we've hired you.
Secondly, what I plan on doing:
I'd like to build myself a small squad of Secreta Secretorum warriors, based on the different (legendary) classes the game provides. And maybe write some fluff stories about the group and their mysterious ways.... (and, ideally, PLAY THE ACTUAL GAME).
Thirdly, what I've done so far:
Meet the Divine Destroyer.
The "Divine Destroyer", as the legendary class is called, is a high-level Psyker who is also specialized in either ranged or melee combat.
He wears Culter Dei Heavy armour, and is armed with a Damocles (think of a Force Sword, only this one makes enemies EXPLODE) as well as a pistol.
I tried to replicate the style of the Culter Dei members (as it's easier and requires less complex conversion work), using SM and GK bits along the way. Also, a few Crux Terminator's managed to find their way to this model as well.
I haven't painted him yet, as I'm still trying to figure out the best way to paint the black armour they wear; luckily, I've just bought a few test models to try the colour scheme on, so expect to see that in the near future.
That's all I have for you right now, let me know what you think!

It's been a while, hasn't it?
One year after starting this thread, I've actually managed to do two things for this strike team;
1. Play EYE Divine Cybermancy
2. Gather more parts to build some more of the merry monks
Playing the game itself was pretty inspiring modelling-wise, EYE's universe is a very strange and often bewildering place, which opens the way for all kinds of conversion work. So far, I've been busy just slapping Grey Knight and Space Marine bits together, but maybe in the future I can experiment some more on the source material.
Now, enough rambling, let's get into the meat of this update, shall we?
As said, I accumulated some more bits over the past weeks, mostly bits for my Chaos warband but I managed to sneak in some more GK and SM parts, mostly legs and torsos. I've managed to put together five new members of the Secreta Secretorum, a few from the Culter Dei and a couple from the Jian Shiang Di.
Here's a group shot of new arrivals:
I've tried to make the Jians and the Culters stand out from eachother by using different torsos and helmets (the Culters bear the Aquila on their chests and wear more medieval-esque helmets, while the Jians wear the regular SM helmets).
The Culter Dei:
Rimanah, Divine Seal
The leader of the Culter Dei, Rimanah is a brooding and highly ambitious individual. Wearing a heavy suit of armour and wielding a Sulfatum minigun, Rimanah is a force to be reckoned with. He strongly opposes the Jian Shiang Di, hoping to dispose of them sooner rather than later, which the Mentor is trying to prevent.
Dutch, Divine Talion
A foot soldier and trusted member of the Culter Dei. Wields a silenced Motra sub machine gun.
I converted his helmet from a Chaos Sorcerer Lord's one, which I think looks pretty medieval without the spikes attached to it.
The Mentor, Cyber Demiurge
The Mentor is the other leader of the Culter Dei, serving as a teacher for the Secreta Secretorum. Despite his attempts to resolve the differences between the Culter Dei and the Jian Shiang Di, both groups seem to be heading for a head-on collision, leaving his once-pupils on different sides.
The Mentor has strong psychic powers, but is also very proficient in hacking various devices.
The Jian Shiang Di
Orionos, Death Wind
Orionos is a footsoldier of the Jian Shiang Di and an excellent tracker and hunter. He specializes in the swift extermination of the strike team's enemies, his twin katanas bringing a quick death to those unfortunate enough to face him. He is also an expert on the daemonic, having much experience in battling the forces of Chaos.
Huon Lo Pan, Divine Rampart
Huon Lo Pan is the leader of the Jian Shiang Di, known for his patience and ruthlessness. He despises Rimanah for his attempts to sabotage the Jian Shiang Di, the two often clashing in verbal conflict.
I used one of Anvil Industry's Spartan shields to give him a more Japanese-style helmet, but I'm not sure it works yet... I'm also considering giving him a studded shoulder pad to make his model match the in-game one.
Lastly, I've started painting the Divine Destroyer, who will probably end up belonging to the Jians rather than the Culter Dei (the numbers wouldn't be even otherwise).
I'll probably give the golds a wash with Agrax Earthshade, it looks a little bit too shiny at the moment.
I've also been thinking about making a small expansion to the force, adding some light armoured guys to both groups. I was thinking of using Scions for this, following the following colour scheme:
That's all I have for now, let me know what you think!
++Thought of the Day: A warrior's faith in his commander is his best armour and his strongest weapon.++

While I haven't heard of the game you're basing these guys off, they do look particularly good so far - conversions and modelling are always of interest to me. I quite like the mixed use of helmets, the sanguinary guard death masks look very good, and they provide a good juxtaposition to the moral brutalist SM helmets and chaos warrior helmets. Love the guy with the Japanese-style hat btw! Very inventive.

Do you know what your sin is, Malcolm Reynolds?
Ah hell, I'm a fan of all seven.
But right now, I'm gonna have to go with wrath. |

Holy Emperor, this thread is old. It's hard to imagine that it's been more than a year since I last posted an update on this thread, but somehow, it happened, and now we're here. I suppose it's got to do with the extremely small scope of this project, and the fact that other, bigger projects *cough*AgeOfSigmar*cough*Chaos*cough* have been grabbing my attention for the past year, but tonight I managed to get myself to continue painting my Divine Destroyer conversion, who's finally (nearly) finished.
Here he is, the first of the small group, bringing death to the foul creatures spawned from the Meta-streumonic force:
Of course, now that I look at the pics again, I notice another couple of mistakes that need fixing
Anyway, I like how this one turned out so far. Painting the black and the gold was a bit of an exercise in balance; the gold couldn't be too bright, whilst the black couldn't be too dark either. I tried to keep the total amount of colours to a minimum, as I wanted to emulate the source material as much as possible. I tried to keep the colours a bit muted, too, as to make the whole more coherent.
I'm not sure how i want to base him; rubble seems like a natural choice, but I think a somewhat darker base would suit the model better. I'm also thinking of swapping his base for a 32mm one, as his current one looks a bit small in my opinion.
What do you guys think? Comments and critique are always welcome

I've gotten some more work done on this little Kill Team, this time turning my attentions to Dutch, one of the Culter Dei's members. Here's what he looks like in his WiP state:
I messed up his robe a bit, but I hope that won't be too noticeable once he's primed and painted. I decided to leave off his shoulder pads, to better emulate the Culter Dei's light armour. His weapon also got swapped for a nice shotgun I had lying around.
Here he is with his buddy from the Jian Shiang Di. I'm really tring to keep the two factions somewhat distinguishable from one another, whilst still incorporating a couple of common elements in their armour.

Hang on Ezra, since when did this happen? I mean I thought I was missing a load of your AoS updates...
Anyway, I love the colour scheme you're going for. Black and gold just works so well with each other. Nice stuff.

Don't worry, you haven't missed any AoS updates This side-project mostly serves as a little diversion from the chaotic mess that is real life at the moment, as I don't have enough time to work on my bigger projects
But there's definitely more AoS stuff coming in the near future, as I've asked the great Santa Clau- I mean, Nagash for some new undead minions...
