Any more info or speculation to add about this?

Nobody knows anything about the Aloha Legion. The Alpha Legion have made sure that no-one knows about anything about them. Hell, I don't know that I don't know that I know anything about them. If anybody claims to know ANYTHING about the Alpha Legion, they are lying.

The inquisitor that reported the story of Roboute killing Alpharius was suspected of being an Alpha Legion conspiracist in the end and the Inquisition EXPLICITLY states "all his information is suspect".

So there's a good chance that Roboute killing Alpharius story is entirely false. Even the Ultramarines have no record of it.

As for body doubles... well, I don't know about marines impersonating the primarch beyond the one example already given here, but there's a table top with fluff rule for the other way around (Alpharius impersonating a normal marine). IA explicitly states that Alpharius is exactly like any other marine until he reveals himself, after which it's a case of "HOLY FK PRIMARCH". Dunno if it can work both ways but given that we've already seen a BL example of it, I don't see why it wouldn't.

I imagine Black Library might shed more light on it as the series goes on. ...maybe.

The Cockatrice Malediction

Isn't it obvious? Eskrador was a setup. 1 twin uses Guilliman to kill the other twin.

After the Heresy Omegon (Alpharius?) becomes the mysterious and sinister Janus, first Grandmaster of the Grey Knights. Meanwhile Alpharius (Omegon?) grows a mustache. When Janus hears that Guilliman has cornered the Alpha Legion primarch at Eskrador he secretly makes planetfall ahead of the Ultramarines.

After locating his brother Janus transmits the coordinates to Guilliman using the highest Imperial security encription protocols under the seal of the High Lords themselves. Guilliman drops on their position and a battle ensues.

Janus and Alpharius (Omegon?) duel but both fall into a ravine. A desperate game of cat and mouse ensues as they hunt each other over the mountainous forbidding terrain.

Guilliman finally catches up to them dueling on a rocky promontory overlooking a sheer vertical drop. Both have discarded their armor during the hunt and Alpharius has shaved his mustache. It is then that Guilliman realizes - they are identical! He confronts the pair but each claims to be the Grey Knight grandmaster.

Then in that pivotal moment one of the twins reaches up to his face and in the blink of an eye is cut down by Guilliman's blade, the severed halves of his torso falling into the darkness below.

"How did you know?" exclaims Janus.

"His mustache - the foul traitor forgot he had shaved it. He was reaching up to twirl it."

This will all be detailed in a future limited edition Space Marine Battles novella. Coming soon...

Can this be canon? Why isn't this canon yet?

It's because there is no solid information on this legion. Even the name of the Gamma Legion is suspect.

Alpharius is alive in the 41st Millenium, we know this because it was confirmed in a Black Library book.*SPOILER ALERT* The be quin trilogy to be exact, Alpharius (in disguise) gets in a fight with a slaneesh space marine and the space Marine rips off Alpharius disguise just enough to glimpse Alphariuss face and is so horrified at what he sees that the slaneesh marine runs away at full speed. Bequin, then ask Alpharius, since she still doesn't know who he is only that he made a space marine runaway, "who are you?" And Alpharius just replies "I am Alpharius." And walks away and disappears

... all members of the Alpha Legion are named "Alpharius". The character in the Bequin Trilogy is a member of the Alpha Legion, not necessarily the Primarch.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

That doesn't prove anything. All Alpha Legionnaires identify themselves as Alpharius, so the name drop is unsubstantial. The Slaaneshi CSM's reaction to his face is pretty interesting, but it still isn't definitive proof. Alpha Legionnaires are known to surgically modify their faces to look like their Primarch so it could very well have just been a normal Legionnaire that looked a lot like him. Furthermore, I find that reaction to be a little strange, honestly. You mean to tell me that this random Slaaneshi marine somehow remembered distinctly what Alpharius looked like from 10,000 years ago? I mean, I know time passes differently in the warp but how in the heck does some random dude get that good of a look at Alpharius so as to be able to be like "Oh, wow, it's the Primarch of the Alpha Legion! I better run away!"

The horrible (awesome) truth is that the Minotaurs Chapter, the High Lords own errand boys, are really Alpha Legion. They have manipulated their way into a position that they get to both steal from and whoop on the Loyalists. All according to plan.

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always!" —Jago Sevatarion

Little do you know that your life is a lie -- you are Alpharius holding a sister of battle riding Omegon disguised as a Slaaneshi Space Wolf scout.

I didn't find it that amazing, though I know some have. You see what's happening from a mile away; Alpha Legion have become a cliche. However, there are some fluff things there that are VERY interesting.

Spoiler:

It seems the Alpha Legion have been able to brainwash Iron Hands into serving the Hydra

Does that mean that I can play as Space Wolves and suddenly turn into Alpha Legion halfway through a game?
