For his art-school graduation exam, Benjamin Harff made an illuminated copy of The Silmarillion in the manner of medieval monks.

Really lovely work. I do hope the Tolkien estate eventually takes him up on the offer to publish.

Did Fulgrim Just Behead Ferrus?

This needs to be a thing. Should do it for The Hobbit and LOTR as well. I would buy all three.

Agreed. I'd like a copy too, although I expect it would be expensive. Assuming the Tolkien Estate authorizes it, this seems like a project for a speciality publisher as opposed to a mass-market one. High quality acid-free paper so the color show to best effect, and leather bindings. Perhaps brass hinges to reinforce the spine?

That form would probably be best for collectors, but a trade version could be done that would probably sell a ton among fans.

I could easily see a version done in the form of a full-color trade paperback comic style binding that would be available to a wider audience.. I'm not super-experienced with comics, but I just bought the Elephantmen "Mammoth" #1 and it's almost 400 pages of glorious full color artwork. I think the MSRP is $30 and that seems like a price point that would be really appealing.
